hey
a friend of mine recently bought an is200 the turbo charged one, it has been revving up and down erratically while idleing, i suggested the idle control valve, he took it to a main dealer and they are saying the throttle body, thing is they are quoting 1300 euro to replace, does this sound excessive or ???????????

They never did a Lexus IS200 turbo. It must be a conversion, so ideally, you need to know who did the work to start with really.

Yes they did a turbo from te factory,but it was not avalable across here,hence would be a gray import

You sure you dont mean the 4 pot altezza import with more power than the IS200? Im pretty sure they never did one and all the turbo's are conversions.

Now i know they did a twin turbo vertex (aristo) which is an import (GS300), but never heard of a factory IS200 Turbo.

Agree with this dont think they ever done a turbo one apart from the aristo which had the supra lump in it

Thats right mate. Many people assume the altezza 4 pot is turbo'd as it has around 50 bhp more than the 6 pot IS200, but its purely down to the design of the engine and is much higher revving.

Its the RS200 Altezza thats the 210bhp 4 pot import, with the AS200 Altezza being the IS200's import equivelent with the same power, but lesser spec.

Its mainly Prolex and Greddy that do the turbo and supercharger conversions.
