It all depends on the circumstances at the time. Was it in rush hour, was it busy, was it raining or poor visibility etc. If the the answer to any of these is yes, then expect something pretty severe unfortunatly mate. Although having said that, theres always other things that can lessen the penelty, like how you present yourself, showing remorse with a good statement, and letters from employers etc. Also, it may even be down to the judge on the day.

Was it South Yorkshire Police,
Can be cunts.
Get a good breif, get your employer to do you a letter saying you need your licence and be willing to take points and a big fine, when you go to the magistrates look smart and presentable like you would for a job interview.
Other than that get yourself a good pair of walking shoes with the money you will save on petrol

My old housemate did 103 on the motorway and got 6 points + Ł200ish fine iirc. No ban at all but he had to consequently retake his test as he was in his first 2 years of driving.
Just turn up and say you did it...stupid to be a no show as the magistrates like to see a bit of pain I think before they take pity on you

Book a good brief, book an advanced driving lesson, turn up to court in a clean suit and clean shaven.
If it was clear/dry/empty etc ( but not against the advice of a solicitor!!) explain that you realize you were travelling at a fast speed, but had taken into account the road conditions, car was/is well maintained and all docs are correct, felt you were driving safly etc but realize what you have done is unnacceptable etc etc, and following this you have enlisted voluntarely on an advanced driving course etc etc.
Should get a decent response, especially with a good breif and a good attitude IMHO Still going to sting though

All depends on the judge that hears the case on the day mate, i got fined Ł350 and banned for 2 months for doing 111 mph on a clear empty stretch of road, perfect dry sunny conditions and at half 8 on a sunday morning !! Had a letter from my boss as well saying i needed my licence for my job as am a recovery driver, judge just said if i needed my licence so much why did i put it in jeapordy by driving at such a excessive speed !!
I was told to expect anything up to a 12 months ban and resit of my test so got off lightly, solicitor cost Ł250 as well !
He said that in his experience most speeding cases involving speeds of over 100 mph were dealt with by a ban as speeding is now so severely frowned upon and they are coming down hard on offenders.

Trouble is, although it's an absolute offence (30.5 in a 30 is speeding, same as 130.5), there are variables for the amount over.
To a magistrate 91 in a 70 is far more serious than 90, due to guidelines etc...
Personally 100mph in a modern car on a quiet motorway is pretty tame, if you can stop within distance you can see to be clear, you'll be alright, barring a blowout etc.

has anyone heard about the new hazard awareness test.some one told me if you get caught speeding then you can take a test to prove your reaction time and competence on the road .if you do this and acept a big fine i think they let you off.

Do you mean a speed awareness workshop?
Certain criteria needs to be met to stand a chance of being offered that.
105mph falls slightly out of being dealt by a couple hours in a classroom, and a Ł60 fine
Good idea these SAW's, I went on one, didn't learn anything, but 99.9% of motorists will

My advice....get a decent solicitor!!!
My car got flashed at 102mph on an A road in South Wales whilst it was a tad foggy behind a Porsche.
8-9months later the case got dropped due to lack of evidence & I didnt have to pay a penny to my solicitor!!!

I totally disagree about the solicitor! For just a basic speeding fine you're not going to get any benefit whatsoever from paying up for a 'good' solicitor. Turn up to court early and ask to speak to the duty solicitor, as they cost nothing. Wear a suit, look smart and make an effort.
If you need the car for work then get work to write a letter, and you'll be spared a ban under what they call 'exceptional circumstances'. But you will be given more points to compensate.
Alternatively, take the ban (probably around 30-50 days in my experience) less points (if any) and a fine.
Basically all the solicitor does is handle all the court ettiquette (when to speak and stuff) and put your case across. It's not like on the telly where the solicitor battles against the judges!
I've been to court for speeding twice, and once for dangerous driving, and have had both a paid for 'specialist solicitor' and a pair of duty solicitors.
There's no way I'd pay again!
Good luck whatever happens though!

I wouldnt of known to ask for everything they ask for, proof of this that & the other...because it was this lack of evidence that got the case dropped in the end!!!

Fair enough. For my Dangerous Driving case I wish I'd spoken to a solicitor before talking to the police, because what I said pretty much sealed my fate (I basically confessed, but without realising it!) But for the speeding cases the solicitor did little other than read out what I'd told them!
It also depends on the likely size of the fine, versus the cost of the solicitor, as it's rare to get off on a technicality like you did.
What winds me up is that if it's a regular speeding fine (i.e. less than 30mph over the limit) and you start to ask for any additional forms, proofs of calibration and all that, they just send the matter straight to court, and you end up worse off!!
