Cool bosses?
Was out with a mate of mine last night, and I think he possibly has the coolest boss going.
He started a company himself many years ago, when we was an apprentice by saving up ALL his wages to make the first initial investment, totally self made, currently worth 80-100 million quid personally apparently, still works as MD of the firm even though he sold it a couple of years ago for the reason "I enjoy it" and still totally down to earth, if he is walking past a machine and it spits swarf out on the floor, then he is the first person to grab a brush and get down on his knees and clean it up.
Examples of his attitude of making sure his staff are content in their job:

Sorry sir, we allocate rooms on arrival and cant guarentee you rooms with a view in advance

Sending People to fetch things:
Pop into town and fetch me a "whatever", the keys to the range rover sport are in my desk drawer, take that its more fun to drive than the van
Decorating the factory floor amongst the machines:
Ferrari F430

Porche 997 turbo
Backing up staff when they are dealing with annoying customers:
My mate had some bloke on the phone who was being a pain in the arse trying to get more discount than he was entitled to, he just wouldnt give up so my mate eventually just told him to get lost and hung up on him.
Bloke phones back saying he demands to speak to the MD, so my mate puts him through and explains to the MD why he hung up on him etc:
One of your members of staff has just told me to get lost when I phoned up to order over half a million pounds worth of equipment from you, this is disgraceful, I demand you do something about it

No....my bosses constantly tell us how much money the firm is making, yet for my Xmas bonus i got a £10 WHSmith's voucher

my girlfriends boss and assistant are like that butnot quite on the same level.
if she gets annoying customers the boss tells them where to go in no uncertain terms.
she works in a kitchen/joinery company who only deal with trade.
all the builders that come in have the attitude that she knows nothing and get a bit shitty with her and sometimes ask for someone else to serve them.
when the truth is other than the manager she knows more than all the other staff.
the other day some bloke got shitty with her and she ended up making him look and feel stupid by knowing a fuck of a lot more about what he wanted to order than her did. so much so he had to go away and check what it was he wanted.

I know of someone (a delivery driver in his 50s) who wasnt sacked even after being caught out having anal sex with the boss's 17y/o daughter as they didnt want him to be without a job.
Id say thats a pretty nice boss
(considering the state of the bird, they maybe thought it was punishment enough )

At the last place, we'd done all the Steelwork drawings and design of a new/refurbed nightclub.
Boos told me I HAD to go represent the company with him, got there and it was a free bar, so he told me I HAD to out drink him and get our moneys worth in free beer, and I better not turn upto work sober tomorrow
Turned up at bout dinner time, rough as fuck so was given a few £ for a Mac D's and told to go home....
But I got paid for the day, and also paid overtime for the night out
Also When I was off work for 2 months with appendix stuff, he said he'd pay full wages, not sick pay as it's not my fault am ill, so shouldn't be penalised.

My boss, bought himself a new 997 porsche and decided to track it at combe.
He asked if id like to go along for the day - midweek so day off work paid too! - I very kindly accepted..
Although un-known to me until I accepted he had booked my car on as well for me.
Awesome day out of work, so tht covers my boss as COOL.

Mines good as gold tbh
get unlimited holidays, as long as i dont take the piss, doesnt take half days off etc out them either.......
get to use the pc as much as want, downloading stuff, even porn lol...
also gets me cool stuff, got a £2k laptop linked to a 22" lcd screen, new
phone every 3 months etc............
i come in at 7.30am go on gym till 9.30am do a bit work and normally
gone by 4.00pm...............
gave me £1000.00 bonus xmas.......
pays for a personnel trainer twice a week.........
bought all my gym equipment downstairs, inc a 32" lcd
Got my car in the loading bay, been there 15months
plus got use of his villa in turkey for free.........
and he gave me 2 tickets to Wales v Italy and 2 for Wales v France
so i think he fookin great lol

Mine is pretty cool, on a smaller scale than the millionaire fella, but we got a good xmas bonus, going out on saturday night all on here, 3 course meal, free bar all night, pretty decent.
Just had my quarterly bonus review last week and it went pretty well so she'd in my good books at the moment! Always get time off that i need, trustes to do what i want, get to browse on here whenever, aslong as the work is done and done well.
My big boss, the main man, is Arnold Clark, one of the richest men in Scotland, met him twice and hes been pretty decent both times, if a bit of a screwball, he forgot where he parked his car on one visit to us, so he just took another one out of the showroom and took that home instead

Depends how you define professional, it was certainly a time efficient manner in which to deal with a lead that wasnt going to result in a profitable sale

my on shore boss was pretty good when i worked in the yard, he took a crate of beer in one friday for every body but obviously your not allowed to drink on shift cos of machines so we made our own pub like thing in a container then it gradualy went from doing it on a friday to wednesday to friday
he used to take a smoke aswell back then aswell
this year tho the big boss called us all it to tell the companys always growing & its made over a billion pounds last year, i got a picture frame for xmas
