Default Bedford Noise Regs

Just really confirming what Helen and Steve had found out. This was an email Bedford sent to one of the guys from the BMW forum. He has a CSL with an upgraded exhaust (even louder than std) and has done loads of bedford days.

However, the bit about 2nd chances seems to contradict a few peoples experience, but thats not a suprise as the office peeps won't necessarily know what goes on on track every second of a track day.

Dear XXXX

The limit at Bedford has in no way changed to what it has been over the last 7 years, nor has the way in which it is measured or inforced.
We simply responded to the forum rumours that people were given chances to run above the drive-by limit to see if they passed and were given 2nd chances should they fail. This would be illegal for the circuit (or indeed any circuit) to allow, and to our knowledge has never happened, and we have run more events at Bedford than any organiser.

All cars must pass the static noise limit tests (you are way under if tested at 96db) but also there is a constant drive-by of 87.5 at 20mtrs. Had your car broken that a few weeks back, the circut would have been under legal obligation to remove you, so you know that you were under the limit.
It is the drivers responsibility to ensure their cars are OK with limits, and it would not be possible to accuratly advise in advance if yours is.

Noise testing will be carried out in the same manner you have already experienced.

Kind Regards,

it's leagalise to stop them getting shut down basiclly

it's stating that if you fail the drive by you will be removed so you need to get it checked beforehand

you can't go there with a loud exhuast and then hope you'll be allowed on or wait for them to test you and then fit a quieter one

can't say they are being unfair

That email says you are way under if the static test is below 96db, I know for a fact mine is 92 but I bet I will get grief on drive by.

Do they actually eject you from the premises as I have two cars?

Remove you normally means remove from track, not venue

Martin,

in the past when people have problems with their car for many different reasons they just take their other car if they have 1..... remember in 2006 when the Porsche Cayenne was going round (the guy had broken his car so used his tow car in the afternoon)....lol

The SIDC day held there about 5/6 years ago, they actually asked them to leave the circuit.

Yeah they lowered the drive-by to 85.5db after JP had flown in in his helicopter from Sussex to try and sort it out.

I am, like you, still a member of the Bedford 28
