Default Ford V6 engine whizz's help!

The V6 engine thats in a Ford Galaxy, can that be found in any other Ford's and if so which ones?

Its a vw engine I believe n not in any other Ford I can think of?
Galaxy and alahambra more like?
Dunnno if its a straight swap with a vr engine tho?

It's the same one as a VR6.

Thanks for that info chap

The Corrado used a 2.9 VR6, would they share the same parts as the 2.8 VR6 do you think? I was looking at a MK2 Golf GTI today with a Corrado VR6 engine in, bloke does not want much for it so rather tempted. Thing that worries me is parts and running costs.

No idea as never looked at one, so dont know if the one in the Galaxy has different manifolds to help it fit, but for VWs...

2.9 V6 is a straight swap.

In the states they had Mk4 Golf VR6s with 24valves too.

And of course there is the R32 engine with is 3.2 24valve and based around the same design.

IIRC VW engines are all fairly well interchangable so could chuck the VW/Audi 1.8 20v turbo lump in there too.

And yeah, parts are common as muck.

Steve do you know if the VR6 fits in a T4 transporter

probably, they did the same engine in the t5 transporter [r32 lump, rebored 2.8 essentially]

the 2.8 24v also came in uk golfs, badged as 2.8 4motion.

probably get better mpg with a cossie transit tbh!

for ultimate insanity they did a 2.8 vr6 automatic 4x4 galaxy

Yeah but a cossie transit will break down as well
