may be a different story round a track.....they actually have some traction!unlike yourself!
im sure your power to weight ratio is quite a bit higher than a csl-surely?

but dingy, even IF you only had 380 bhp,you still have a higher power to weight ratio so its hardly a huge scalp is it? even if he was trying!
i wouldnt expect to keep up,or get anywhere near your car in my paltry standard m3 e46.
cant help but think he,(like most),csl drivers didnt want to stuff his 35k car on a potentially greasy road(especially if he is mich pilot cup tyres!!!).
go and chase one round a track......

i love your escort dingy, its one of my fave mk2's-and its a fuckin animal.and I would get great pleasure embarrasing a lot of "quick cars" in it if it was mine.....
but you have to respect what a csl can and probably would do to you round a track.

well surely if you have already done the deed on a csl with your t34 on-whats the big deal about doing it again with your t4?
im not dissing your car in any way shape or form steve.and im also very sure from what i have seen its quite a bit more than 380 bhp.!!!
but surely you cannot follow a csl pedalled by a decent driver round a track in your car as all your car does is wheelspin in virtually every gear! and if you can maybe you should be entering drift competitions?

dingy-where was "the race" today?
one of my fave cars and one that would grace my virtual garage would be a huge spec mk2 cossie'd escort, alongside a csl,and a gt3..............
all im saying is i dont think many people will be surprised you beat a csl in a street race,or down a road you know.and if you dust one round a track-RESPECT.

I remember back in 2004, when my frst worked and had 220 odd bhp and up a certain steep road i hit a certain speed. Went out in a CSL brand new 4 up and we hit 10mph slower.
I was going mad that i beat this CSL, but then again my GF's dad was driving.. But in reality the CSL would would my old FRST's arse.
What is the ''real'' bhp of your mk2 dingy? any vids? sounds awesome.

surely dingy you are not "ford blinkered" this much not to appreciate other marques?
or are you on a mission to dominate the world in your mk2 and beat everything non ford in the world?
ive had the pleasure of owning some nice powerful cossies and had some great fun turning over porsches, ferraris on some memorable drives out on the road.but there are some very nice fast powerful packages out there without the blue oval on them-and some are fairly reliable too!

whats to say the guy had any idea of the area or where he was going-i went for a drive in the m3 today round cheshire-i had no idea where i was heading and certainly wouldnt have entered into a "race" round there with anything-let alone a 380/400/450/500/550(or whatever power you have)mk2 escort.
maybe the young lad who overtook me in his rover zr today is posting something similar on the rover board?
i think its safe to say that your car has substantially more than 380 bhp
but even if you were running greens,t34 set up i would say you should still beat a bmw csl in a quick blast race.
