Default Sticky Tyres: Yokohama A048 or Toyo R888?

What would be better for general use as a Santa pod/track day tyre? Wont be used on the road as they will be on spare wheels.

Also, whos best/cheapest to buy from?

Cheers chaps!

correct,

doing a small burnout, wont get them up to temp

my r888's are better after a lap of donny, after that they fine, but they need to be warmed up, to get the pressures up inside

course ya can mofos! i nice big smokey burnout sorts that

The Harris' use hoosiers and they get more than warm enough for a 11sec quarter.

i just think it'll snap my shafts on the launch. I'd rather have a little bit of slip, just to save them.

The Harris lads will be using proper Drag slicks that will very very soft and get up2 temp very easily.

R888's and alike are a totally different design to Drag slicks.

Track wise A048 apparently have a much stiffer sidewall which suits some applications better, the 195 wide 888 works out at about 203mm wide iirc wich on a nova makes everything VERY close.

We run 888's on the drag nova and I've driven several cars with them and I have to say they are awesome, all this crap about using them in the wet is ridiculous, their not that bad at all and IMO you shouldn't be pushing that hard if its pissing it down.

Even on wet tracks the 888 can be better than a lot of tires I've known people to use.

We've got a set of MT slicks which are super soft but as you say I think your axle would shit a brick if you launched on those

888 are by far the best all round tire for what you want

love my R888's for track, not tried them at pod yet, but will be on them at central day ding doesn't think they'll be warm enough, but the car breaks traction much less with them on, over my paradas even when they're not that warm

Tim's were a good price, i paid the same and mine are narrower and smaller i think
