Get into specialist couriers, much better, transport organs/bloody or something. Where I work the couriers (EMT/Globaleyes) do aircraft parts transfer, the guys do East Mids, Cardiff, Bristol and back to East Mids, with about 5 boxes at each to be dropped off. Easy life if you don't mind being sat on the motorway Gotta beat the hell out of town parcel deliveries, being stuck in the citys.

depends on which firm you work for really

parcel force types wil be expected to do the majority of their round or they don't get paid and this can be upwards of 70 drops a day

the bonus is that you are normally on a set route and you just collect and drop off in one particular area and don't have to go shooting all over the shop

then again, i'm in the specialist delivery business and some days we are so slack that we go and cover deliveies in places like wales and nottingham (from london )

but we tend to get about 5 pr 6 minimum and around 35 top whack

84 drops? she got off lightly when I was a delivery driver for Parcel Force 97% of the delivery routes had a target in excess of 100 drops a day, once you hit the target you got something like £3:25 and then 25-40 pence for every drop after that depending on route, it wasn't a bad job but a lot of tearing around but important to remember its your licence that will end up with points on it as did mine, I was 20 when I started there and done 8 years of delivery driving, I wouldn't go back to it now though,

You have good days and bad days tho, and xmas you can write of seing much of the family what with getting late away in the morning (up to 4 hours late) try and get most of the run done but still missing loads of jobs !! and then return to depot to sit and wait 2-3 hours to unload not getting you home till 22.30-11.30 at night and thats from being at depot at 7am

And they expect this from you 5/6 days a week , all i can say is thank fook im part time now and have been since last august cos fuck that shit 5/6 days a week
