I wouldnt fit a clifford.
I know people who have had them fitted and regretted it.
Apparently they arent good at coping with british weather, and some mates in the trade would refer to that as a comeback300

Fit the Clifford but don't buy a secondhand one, and expect it to work.
The function of a Clifford is ALL in the installation - ansd there are too many monkeys buying them off Ebay, having them fitted by their mate (who knows how to wire up a stereo), and then wondering why they don't work.
The training to fit a Clifford 300 is 2 days intense after being qialified as a successfull installer, so it's no wonder.
My Clifford 600 is the ONLY reason I still have my cossie - since the CCTV, the and the disklok were no obstacle

do you have a proffesional that will fit it for you even though you supplied it?
might be as well getting one supplied and fitted by a reputable dealer then you at least have some comeback if it goes tits up!

the only time cliffords fuck up is when monkeys fit em, sorry if ya dont wanna hear it but its true
if its fitted correct then ya will not have a problem
sooooooooooo many dodgy cowboys out there just get off there horse fut in in 30 mins and ride off into the sunset and then people blame the clifford alarms
find a proper installer and that dont just mean aproved as halfords used to be aproved
oh and just incase ya wondering scotch locks may look tidy but its still a bodge
find a decent firm mate

All fitters for those alarms go through the same training. The Cliffords are about "bling" add-ons more than function. Had my Cav GSi knicked from right outside my house and it was fitted with a Clifford. Would never use one again, specially after what the engineer told me that came and fitted the Toad(drove a corker of an Escos ). EIL has been safe ever since, even after an attemp to break in, must say something

The guy who fitted my alarm took the entire dash out, soldered and heat shrunk all of the joints and taped them back into the loom.
Took him 2 days - but he only charged me the normal fitted price! (top mate!)
I cant find the fookin alarm!!
I know someone from here who is getting their Clifford removed after 18 months and its going in the bin.
The install is a fooking mess and the fitters refuse to accept or rectify the fuel cut off relay fault.
Wouldnt have one as a gift!
As a matter of interest - everyone who rates Cliffords - are your car's garaged overnight? Damp seems to be an issue with them.

just finding my feet
my car aint garage at all and trust me it gets wet
just cause ya go on a intensive training course dont mean ya aint gonna get a lazy money hungry fitter
ive seen a profesional fitter that my work uses use a scotch lock for a earth on a vipe vp4 amp on a install
sorry but ya gotta find a proper firm, sometimes it will be more than the list price too
oh and eil pm me wheree he fitted the sirn as thats a secret with the installs
tbh im not a clifford fan as i like using the under dogs of the market rather than pay for a sticker ( i get g4 stickers free anyway )
my old cabrio had a non cat1 toad alarm that i fitted and i also fitted my imobliser to me 1300
trust me ya wasnt starting that as i had relays hidden all over the place for extra cuts
i never seem to keep me cars running long enough for a relay to die but that would fooking kill me, 8 relays hidden in th car from behind the electric roof motor to all other places
oh and not sure if it was electrically sound but seemed to work
