Really wouldnt mind getting on at Bedford. Have the ability to switch boost and use a lower ignition map.... worst comes to the worst I also have a bung. Some how though I don't fancy having to cut my power down by 150bhp just to run around a track.

Just get a decent exhaust peolpe... its not rocket science!

If you have one scilencer it will be noiser than with 2 or 3 or 4

lol so true. We dont have to brake for corners though

at least at our crawling pace we are actually ON track, rather than just thinking about it
Ouch, I felt that one, properly below the belt punch

well i'm not tall enough to punch above the belt

Think i'm the only one who's made mine noisier before this day should still be well under the limits
Was 91 static with Power Eng exhaust on at brands and even the guy who tested it said it was pathetic

The worst car I've seen for getting black flagged at Bedford was a Honda Civic Type R with a cone filter kit..... Everytime "Vtec kicked in yo" it set the alarms ringing...lol

Only problem with failing the static is YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON TRACK

Get some kind of bung or extra silencer made up now IMHO, as they were tight on it last time I was there (2 years back)

I will be running a bung inside my exhaust which is a pain as it really seems to kill the power (surprisingly noticeable), but it does help keep the noise down to 99/100db on the static.

Better to prep something now rather than chance it or fail it on the day.

Si
Not true SiB. I believe they give you a red sticker to say you failed the static but allow you on track. They then keep a close eye on you to see if you fail the drive by.
First time I was at Bedford and additionally everytime at Combe, fail the noise test, and you are not allowed on. I was borderline with my Cossie and they debated letting me on track.

My first trip to Bedford was 2 years ago, if things have changed I'll have one of these

Until I hear differently for certain, I'm going to make damn sure my car is under the noise level as best I can. Not worth taking the chance on it.

Si

However

Pass, however I have a HKS one similar ish in style that normally pulls off a couple of DBs

Would be worth a try if you are slightly concerned.

Not really Mark, and they can end up firing out like a pea shooter when the exhaust gets hot and they guy behind you wont be impressed lol

For the future of all our venues to survive we as competitors have to build our cars to conform to the regs, not fudge, fiddle, and pray our way through tests. If that means losing 5 50 or 500 bhp then so be it, but at least we can still go out playing

Sort out your noise issues correctly to conform to Euro rules and protect our venues please

Either that or can someone commit mass murder on all the local NIMBYS close to our circuits

For anyone close to the limit and offered a retest try these 2 steps.

1) make sure the engine is fully warm when doing the test.
2) Press the clutch in !!

That can sometimes drop it 2-3 dB

You may be the only one there Rossco

Places like Elvington are in the middle of nowhere and thats had numerous court cases filed against it over the last 12 months

Most places are now introducing a zero tolerance as these cases are beginning to bite home

When my mate got black-flagged at Dono in his Evo for noise, Ryan the head bloke there told him it was probably his induction kit that was causing most of the noise.

Yeah dead funny when you consider he's had a specially made exhaust by Haywood and Scott fitted and even funnier because he stopped his screamer pipe venting to the atmosphere!

Thats what made my decision for me, with the 3 strikes and you are out at least you get a chance to turn the boost down or give it a bit less manfoot up the straight as you know the score and how much you are over by etc, where as now its just game over for the first infraction, it could potentially be a VERY short day for me

They don't always say that to everyone! It wasn't Andy's induction kit making the noise, it was down to the screamer pipe and exhaust - even a partially deaf person could have heard it.

You're fucking missing the point mate! Charlies doesn't sound loud from the exhaust! His exhaust is a lot quieter than mine when accelerating and even moreso on tickover and I have never been black-flagged.

Stick to something you know about Dingy instead of coming out with half-arsed comments about something you know fuck all about!

They don't always say that to everyone! It wasn't Andy's induction kit making the noise, it was down to the screamer pipe and exhaust - even a partially deaf person could have heard it.

Your missing the point....

Charlies sounds loud from the exhaust not the engine ffs - a fucking 2 month baby could tell u that
You're fucking missing the point mate! Charlies doesn't sound loud from the exhaust! His exhaust is a lot quieter than mine when accelerating and even moreso on tickover and I have never been black-flagged.

Stick to something you know about Dingy instead of coming out with half-arsed comments about something you know fuck all about!
fucking hell you could hear it over take mine.... and i had a lid on LOL....

Stop having a go lynne just cause you think your a track demon LOL....
You started it pal... first off you mentioned Andy's car, something you told me you never wanted to discuss anything about, then you start butting in talking about something you know fuck all about... ie Charlie's car. You don't know what exhaust it has, you don't know what turbo it has and most importantly you don't know what induction kit it has. So kindly STFU and stick to what you know...
