Drunken Master

Been looking at getting a new motor for the new year. Still can't make my mind up what to get . Saw one of these for sale the other day and wondered what peoples thoughts were on them.

As far as I can make out it's a 3.4 310bhp switchtronic (what ever that means). How do these compare to the M3?

Not saying I'm 100% going to buy one, just looking at what options are out there.

Best ask on e36coupe or something mate.
Many rave about the Alpina's due to the torque, and say they'll beat M3's.
I never understand that unless both are limited to 4000 rpm but there we go.
For every day driving Alpina would be quicker, gruntier and comfier, more a cruiser as opposed to a racer.
Don't think they have LSD's, which is a bit pants if you like to be a bit spirited.
So very different cars in many ways.

Alpina's are all autos as well iirc and are meant to be more for cruising rather than a and b road blasts.

Have you looked at AC Schnitzer versions?
