It was mapped by Harvey... It could also have been mapped by anyone else including Stu or Karl!
I await your next pointless comment

I see the "MADettes" are out in force today. (not a diss to Mark)
I leave the mapping to the experts such as Mark MAD, Stu, Karl, harvey etc....
This does not mean my abilitys in electronics are compromised because off this.
I just dont want the agro of mapping someones car and the worry if it will
blow up. This is why TUNERS earn their money.
Yet again, on PF if someone advertises there triumphs and successes there is always someone
taking pot shots no matter who they are or what they have done but it seems to
me I take the most sh*t because I guess I am an easy target.

SECS or P8ECU just making the choice at the moment which ever it will be mapped by AMHAD

Every time someone trys to help you, you end up upsetting them.
Anything new will take time to get used to especially a complex product like an ECU.
To answer your comment (Sorry Mark)......
Does Mark know how to build and make an ECU, and does this make him
a bad mapper if he cant ?
NO and the reverse goes for me. I do not tune cars from choice and yes
from lack of experience.

Just by looking at some of the engines running S8, they arnt your average 330bhp YB engines......the people who spent £10k+ on components for their engine have chosen S* and it shows how much faith people have in it
I have a lot of faith in Simons ECU and indeed his mapping skills....

sec you have created a great product.
im sorry people but this is a big achievement for someone to develop. he has also stuck by his product giving advice and sometimes going and fixing the problem himself.
i think the SEC ecu is great value compared to other ECU's in the market place. it gives great value for money.
i also think that the autotronics ecu is great, along with pectel, gems, etc. they offer great features.
each to there own. again as mentioned before, it is up to the tuner which engine management. what they will be able to map and get the best out of.

Simon...you dont see my point.
If i was looking for aftermarket managment and i had spent say 10k on an engine build...i'd go Autronic BECAUSE its more proven.
You wanted me to be honest, and how on earth is that an insult In 4 years time i can see SECS S8 being the market leader
Porkie you are obviously a bit like me more and dont care if the engine melts/blows UNLESS Simon garanteed you if the ECU failed youd get a free rebuild

1. You would NEVER spend £10k on an engine .
2. You would NEVER spend £1.5k on an ECU .

Mike...
1......I dont NEED to spend 10k on an engine because i do it all myself....if i did spend 10k i'd have 1500bhp..ROFL.
2......No i wouldnt as if i went 4 inj P8/L8 or L6 would be my ECU choice if i went 8 inj like now it would be S8..BUT saying that now i got S8 i'd use it for 4 aswell as i love to fiddle..ROFL.
Mark is one of the few tuners that likes me...so for that my tongue will always be brown

If I had ANY doubt, I wouldn't have used it... do you think I would risk the engine for the sake of a few k???
Simons ECU was PROVEN before I used it... if you bothered to ask him you would realise its been developed and used on his and his mates cars for years.

where do people think the power gains come from with different ecu's?
Dont ask stupid questions Gareth, which one looks most 'bling'?
As Sunny said, the choice should be down to the mapper.

Porkie i wasnt too happy with Simon before the ECU so was hesitant as TBH who IS SECS????...We all know Autronic...they got a good pedigree.
Sorry for being honest Its in no way a diss to S8 i just talking as a person who maybe spent alot of cash on an engine and wanted a "known" brand.....You are priviliged Porkie as you are in the in crowd so you KNEW of this ECU before it was really launched...or was it cause it was free like Broms? (dont know it was free..but its good publicity for Simon like my experience is good for him imo..but i bet i will have to pay retail )...TBH....the free trial i got seems like its a new product that needs publicity

When have i ever slagged off Simon? Yes i thought the SECS moniters were shite..but S8 is great...even though boost control dont work on this one...LOL.
Trouble is Simon SECS is too paranoid...and he still never answers his mobile!
But i am still very greatful for the ECU and my publicity is GOOD for this product imo....all i said was Autronic is best at the mo if you want a known brand on an expensive engine
TBH i just think its you lot hating on Mark...AGAIN

Just my 2 cents. I went with Autronic because I live in Italy and can't have one of the top tuners on here do it. With Autronic I can use AutoTune which will help myself and my Italian tuner get started. Then if I ever get a chance to get to Mark he can look over the map and make suggestions or tell me to fook off. Which I don't think he would do but then again I am a Yank.

Also I just noticed that SECS is £500 but I take it thats just for the ecu? Am I right in saying that you would have to add price of new loom, fitting, mapping etc? With all of these added up how does it compare with the Autronic SMC's price of £1500 all in? This is the only way to do a fair price comparison.
Thanks - Sunny.
