Default Dont Buy A Snooper

I have a snooper S6-Neo and it has failed to see radar, laser, gatsos, truvelos and is completely f**kin rubbish. The last straw was when I got a speedin ticket in the post this morning and performance products sloped their shoulders and told me I must have been speeding.Dont buy Snooper. They are Sh*t.P.S I am livid as it cost me £500 Quid and It didnt see a f**kin camera van.

well, how is it supposed to "see" a camera van? By the time your car is being hit with radar/infra red signals its too late and thats all it can detect.

Should be able to pick up fixed cameras thou.

Mines not much cop, but does pick up stuff... Have you got a heated screen, or is it mounted right at the bottom of the screen, behind the wipers?
Apparently makes a difference...

Bet it picks up petrol stations ok tho!!??

Has your car got a heated windscreen? That would stop it working properly.

As said above if you have a heated windscreen it does make a difference to how well they operate. I've got a Snooper SD815 and it picked up nothing virtually. I moved it to the side of the heating elements and it now pics up every petrol station and pedestrian crossing in the town

does it have all the detectors on it? i know some of the new ones go purely off the database, if its not updated daily then it will be out of date.

Same thing happened to my mate I sold one to. It turned out he forgot to plug it in
Seriously they won't usually pick up a van if it is facing from behind

Spadge,I bought it 14 months ago mate.Thats maybe why it cost more.I repeatedly phoned them last year to tell them that it wasnt picking up 3 cameras on the A68 just when you get into scotland but did they give a s*it?NO they didnt.OH we will send our rep out to see if the cameras exist.Did they appear on the database?NO.Even after 5 months.I reckon its worth saving your money for the fines and increased insurance premium.

Agree total fuckin shit! Fixed camera's via GPS is OK but laser has never picked up a van (been past loads on a37, infact most day's). Had two false laser alarms tho!

Radar is also pointless as it picks up anything and everything

The S6 Neo has a remote laser / radar detector that is mounted in the bumper, so what the fuck have heated windscreens got to do with this? .

Because some people mount it on the windscreen

I have had the Snooper S6-Neo for about 6 months and it is a really good bit of kit once it gets a GPS signal

Must admit though, it has missed a few camera vans so i may move the radar detector up the screen a little

Tiff,
Put it in the bumper fuckwit - it's common knowledge that the filament wires in the heated screen bounce the signal back, so you only have radar detection ability from the detector to the screen and I don't think a camera van can park that tightly .

Tiff,
Yes.... I have the same problem as you in that the GPS signal drops out, but not running a front number plate saves you from the mobile ones....

Is there any unit that picks up Mobile camera's? I have the new Road Angel but it fails on mobile camera's. And if there is a unit out that does, does this mean camera's give off some signal??

Thanks
Bobby

pisser about the ticket mate

Probably worth mentioning it is still worth hitting the brakes as soon as you see a mobile van - I used to think you were instantly fucked, but that is not the case.

bell 550 euro detects everything in plenty of time plus you can delete unwanted frequency,s, as in x band and ka band which are no longer used by the police. and if you back this up with a proper laser jammer you should have no bother
