A mate of mine used to run around without a front plate and he got nicked for speeding.It turns out they got him by reading his number off his tax disc. ALL COPPERS SHOULD GET OFF THEIR ARSES AND GO GET THE MURDERERS,RAPISTS,ILLEGAL IMMEGRANTS,GRANNY MUGGERS AND DRUG DEALERS THAT WE PAY THEM TO GET AND STOP PERSECUTING US FOR PR*CKY LITTLE OFFENCES.OH I FORGOT THERES NO MONEY TO BE MADE IN THAT LOT IS THERE? Guess I better go spray a few gatsos and truvelos and get my moneys worth.

I always carry the number plate in the car, with sticky pads on the back of it that have lost their sticky-ness and just say it fell off in the heat / car wash / bird hit it, and that I just haven't had a chance to put it back on yet. The only prob would be to get stopped by the same copper twice, but as I don't normally use the car for anything other than long journies / track days. The police are normally travelling in opposite direction and so I have only been stopped once whilst waiting outside a shop to pick up Jen, as the car was clean, I used the second excuse and he just told me to get it put on again ASAP.

I believe the maximum panulty is a fine (which used to be £25 when the speeding ones were only £44, so I'm sure it must have gone up), but no points come with it, so I know which is preferable .
