I did try the Ferrari 360 before the Porsche, but Ill be honest, you gotta be properly rich to run one of them! Nice on the outside, but not to my taste inside.

I wanted to avoid the body kit, but it is horses for courses!
The X50 kit is meant to be pretty good, though I couldnt tell the difference between them. I believe the real differences are released when each is tuned (ie that the X50 will yield more power!)
Porsche are crap at trade ins! They are the only car manufacturer that are selling cars it would seem!
If you look on the web, there is a rather nice Black one for sale on the Porsche website for less than that, which has the Porsche performance pack (which for those in the know is the X50 pack!!!!)

Black was my first choice, but at that time, there just were none that were good enough.
I must admit, had the above one been available I may have been tempted.
With the above said, I have completely fallen in love with the Seal Grey of mine.
In exeter, they had an RUF prepped 996 GT2 - 700BHP (and in yellow!) and no Traction control and the engine in the wrong place! Was on Toyo R888s!
Looked well used as well!

but i had a play tonight with a young guy in his 57 plate turbo s.was also in that grey colour
my car isnt a patch on it i know overall but he did still follow me along the road to see what id done to the car as he couldnt belive it either could i tbh 
even porkies working on me thi as i told him there was a company called dms that could make sure the same wouldnt happen again

A 57 Plate Turbo S....... I don't think so mate, as they stopped making Turbo S's in 2005!

I got tempted by a Turbo just before xmas, after considering getting out of the Scoob. It was the only car I had drove that was anywhere near the Subaru in performance for a standard car..... which in my train of thought at the time was what I wanted. Unfortunately I made the mistake of taking a 997 Turbo out as well as the 996. IMO there is no comparison and the 997 as a COMPLETE package is just an absolute tool. Unfortunately it costs Ł90k!
I then did some testing up at Donington just after xmas in the Scoob (had the track all to myself for the day ).... I then started to lose the urge to buy a Porsche again for a couple of weeks.
Cracking bits of kit though and out of the box they are very good cars!

It had an S badge on it by previous owner, Thrush who made the sig then included it in the sig also, adding to the S myth!
Probably be removed by JJ if he can be arsed to, although who really gives a crap. Car is ace full stop

Right. Another interesting fact. The 911 996 Twin Turbo I do not believe was available formally as an 'S' until quite a lot later. I believe it was possibly as late as 2004/5. As such, any 996 that claims to be such simply isnt.
That said, the S was simply a 996 with the X50 pack and ceramic brakes.
The only real problem is that the Ceramics are fiercely expensive to replace (and need to be if you get a small chip in one of the discs which apparently happens more frequently that you would like!
The other slight snaffoo is that the X50 pack actually doesnt make the car any faster at all (at least up to 100mph).
the kicker is that the X50 comes in to its own when you tune them (not by porsche, but by others). Go figure!
