good stuff mate, don't know what I'd do if ours got hit, luckily enough she hardly ever ventures outside, and even then its only in the back garden to lay in the sun

Bless him! They look so pissed off when they've been shaved don't they? Dogs don't seem to care but cats give you a look as if to say they REALLY aren't impressed.
£300 really isn't bad though mate!
Get him some ham or something to cheer him up!

Oh wow!! Shaven Haven!! LOL.
I can't believe he's home. Quite amazing. So, what did they actually have to do and what (if any) will be the lasting effects? Sorry if I missed this in an earlier reply?
I bet this will make you treasure him more than ever now, I know how close we are to our cat, since losing our other two. He has another chance!

No point in getting pissed with the driver.
These things happen all to frequently.
I would like to know what to do if you driver went back and there was an injured cat that you had no idea who the owner was. They rarely have collars with tags with an address or tel number.
Fookin big Great Dane ran infront of my car years ago late at night , along an unlit lane. People were walking it along the verge and it ran out right infront of my car (i was going about 50mph). They fook off with a virtualy dead dog (crying and all that bullshit), and leave me with bust bumper, crossmember, radiator and smashed windscreen. When i went to see them the following day to sort out paying for all the damage that they/dog had caused all i got was abuse and told to fook off. Cost me about £700. Assholes

Glad to hear he's home Hope he makes a speedy recovery
Got a call and had to drive home quick to get my siamese, Kasper, to an emergency appointment at weekend - £96 before they'd even see him he's insured but i had to pay the whole bill upfront (the day before i was paid )
Would not see him suffer for hours/a full day so he could see his own vet and would have found the money to cover his fees regardless - they do become a member of your family

He had some form of Gastritis and was apparently the 4th cat in that day - which is a bit weird, as you usually hear of people all getting a bug at the same time.. not cats lol
The reason i suffered the emergency fee and took him was that he hadn't eaten, drank or moved off my bed since the friday - and no water for 3 days is really bad
They gave him a form of morphine (one which doesn't cause nausea) and were going to admit him if he hadn't taken water from an oral syringe by the evening
He was stoned out of his tiny mind though
