Default Noise regs on track, how do they measure it?

I was told it was at 3/4 of your rev limit from about 2ft away. I checked my saff yesterday after fitting a new quieter rear box and it came out 94.2db. Is this the right way to do it?
cheers.

3/4 throttle (IE - 4500 rpm) at 1 meter away from the exhaust exit at an angle of 45 degrees upwards IIRC

That's true, some do and some don't. Best thing to do is to find out where they are and give them a wide birth if your car maybe too noisy.

I was waiting for you to see it .Its not meant to be catty really, but when I read it I did think it sounded a little derogatory.
I know what you mean though, I can do the odd powerslide like most peeps but drifting is a completly different ball game, an art form and there are alot of people who don't understand that.

3/4 revs, 0.5 meter away at a 45 degree angle to the exh is more common IME.

agreed. 3/4 throttle will soon have you bouncing off the rev limt

i have a noise meter that i will be bringing to bedford just in case there is a dispute with the static noise test on mine (won't help with drive by, but i don't see that as a particular problem)

Nick,
No point, because if you fail the static noise test, they still let you on track, but with a red sticker, which allows them to look out for you to see if you trigger the drive by ones .

My Escort usually fails the static (just), but passes the drive by ones .

I don't think so mate, this one has a combat kit and chrome vulk wheels . If it's the one your thinking about then at least he knows how much of a tool he looks now.

After Combe Circuit, Croft is the next most sensitive circuit largely due to one local resident being a big wig on the local council

If you turn up and know your at 104 you deserve to be booted off during session 1
