Default what are the rules on number plates?

basically what is the maximum extent you can go to without it being illegal?

e.g

writing style

writing size

spacing

and what ever else?

Standard fonts
Standard size
Standard spacing

No limit on reflective background, E.G :

so if you plate is E 456 ABC, you have basically got to have a std size plate, but you can trim the plate to the edge of the letters.

If your plate is N 9 COS , you can have it smaller width ways as long as the spacing between the digits remains std, so you could trim it down to the letters and remove the gap where the other numbers normally are etc

only thing you can change is to have carbon fibre effect letters but it has to be the original font, size and spacing...

the front on my mk4 bonus was tiny lol, about as long as a 15cm ruler but double the width, with border and bonus_boy in the corner and letters in graffiti writing...

never got pulled for it though

coppers will find any excuse to be cunts, its not worth the effort to change it from standard.

3d lettering in the standard font tends to be 'get awaywithable', also as someone pointed out above so long as the letter size is legal you can have a minimum of 11mm reflective around the outside for it to be illegal - so cutdown plates are ok (look better if your plate contains a number 1).

Import cars are allowed lettering only 44mm high!!
