As above really.

Anyone used them on track and what do you think of them. Grip / wear etc.

Cheers.

I've got them on my car and they seem very good

I've not used them on track, but apparently they don't overheat as badly as F1's etc

Toss on wet IMO.

Ok in dry, as with everything, depends on weight of car etc for track.

ROAD tyre. and not even Yokohamas best performance tyre...

semi budget tyre that LOOKS good in my opinion...

Just because they LOOK funky, does NOT mean they are a sort of semi trackday tyre... which alot people on here seem to think they are!!!!

Micky mouse tyre for CRUISERS if you ask me!

they do look good though!

Iv'e used them on the road, at Croft, Cadwell, Donnington and the Nurburgring and havent got a problem with them for what they are:
By no means the best, but pretty damn good for the money.
Can squeal a bit too much in hot weather!

i havent used them myself but my manager has them,he says they were good all round until they got down to about 3mm left and then were shockingly dangerous

anybody know what yoko a048's are like?they put them on the lotus elise's. i presume due to tread pattern proper shite in the wet but are they really any good on the dry?

I used on them on my old cossie and thought they were very good for the money. Crap in the wet as said.

I've never used a proper track day tyre so can't compare but they seemed to do the job on road and track.

A048's are good... R888's are at LEAST as good in dry, far better in wet, last longer and are alot cheaper from Martoon.

Its a no brainer as far as I am concerned

How many track days would you get out of a set? Obviously depends what car they are on though i suppose...

IIRC a mate with a Pug 205 said his didnt last long?

to clear on 18's otherwise its too much grief.

im looking for a dry use only tyre, so as sticky as possible, but has to be 35 profile due to clearance issues on 8.45J wheels

Are R888's not a bit much for a road tyre? I know they're only semi-slicks, but does anyone actually use them on a road car?

I use R888's every day. On a 300bhp+ S14 with a welded diff and a 200bhp Prelude. No problems rain or shine.

was thinking about r888s for mine but I was also considering avon cr500 or acb10 as I can choose different compounds.

anyone got any experience of or know anything about these?
i believe cr500 is standard fitment on caterhams.

I have driven a Formula Ford on ACB10's.... don't suppose that very relevant they used to be the control tyre for the race cars I think.

Driven a few Caterhams on the CRs.... again not reallt relevant as they weigh as much as crisp packets mate.

lee, i wish, 245's i have at the moment mean no arches at the rear, so 265's would mean no kit aswell

if they were 17's i would probably go for 265's

oh well, was worth a try.. kind of figured it was a long shot! thanks anyway.

I've tried the CR500s on a Caterham, and was very impressed, but like you say, not really relevant to my escort unfortunately as it could be the caterham that was impressive!

I've got 4 or 5 sets of wheels for it so i suppose there's nothing stopping me having a selection other than £££. Especially as i'll be needing proper slicks as well
