Default FAO Mondeo peeps (Water leak)

Right the carpet on the passenger foot well is damp. Thought i had it sussed the other day, but i dont as its getting damp again. Any idea or common places for water to seep in through and go onto the passenger footwell?

what model is it 1,2, 3 or even 4 ?

anywayI'm pretty sure it will be the pollen filter seal, this is under the black plastic cover between the bonnet and windscreen on the passengers side, remove the cover and then the cover on the filter, remove filter, clean the area fit new filter and ensure it's clipped in correctly and refit covers job jobbed..

the heater matrix on a mondy will not leak into the car it's bottom cover has a drain through the bulkhead so if the matrix leaks it runs into the engine bay .

Fave on old vauxs, would block and send it into car.

pollen filter seems to be the easiest to check

some of them need a ford sealer when they get changed to prevent them from leaking

My mk2 dose this as well, only when it feels like it though. Is it a cheap one to fix the pollen bit?

Sorry mate trying to two things at once AS you can see i cant multi task

If the pollen filter is fitted incorrectly, would this only cause a leak to happen on the drivers side? Or could it also leak on passenger side?

Or is it just the way the luck falls and the way its sealed, ie wrong on drivers side part, hence leak over there.

Will have play tomorrow, will also pull edge of carpet up make sure everything is ok underneath

the pollen filter is on the passenger side hence why it only leaks on that side, if both front footwells are wet then you may have a pond in your pollen filter or another leak on the drivers side, what tho I'm not sure as I have never seen one,so not had to look there

when I bought my present mondy, the heater fans would only turn slowly, I found out why when I took the pollen filter out, it was blocked solid!!
the fans whizz round now!!

Fuck i am one of the biggest pricks going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Started this thread saying passenger side When i meant to say drivers side only. Hence why getting confusion with pollen filter Now i dryed the carpets out when i got the car and all seemed well until todays rain. Where im resting my feet for accelerator etc its started to become damp agian. Its dry by the door, centre console ,front and back but where I put my feet it damp getting wet. Thinking its where my feet or pushing it doing is soaking it up. YOu think this might be still pollen filter related? As said will pull carpet up as much as i can without taking seat out, to check floor.

Posy thing i hate little things like this.

IIRC the washer pipe on a mk2 goes into the A post at the top of the inner wing so it could be split there and running down the A post.

In saying that, I'm sure the last owner had a roof rack on it and isn't there some sort of rubber seal where that screws or bolts into in line with the top of the drivers door?
