they show you the resluts on the telly but in reality they are basicly very mild chemical peel kits which just burn off the upper layer of skin in some cases or scrub away the topmost layer of skin in other cases
the ones that say "it reinvigoates the skin" aren't really telling the truth because what the scar tissue is is where the skin has joined up after a break in the proper dermititis (or whatever it's technically known as)
it's like welding something together, you will always see the weld unles you are very good at polishing it out
does this scar leave you looking like a criminal or does it leave you looking like a survivour of a train wreck?
you don't always have to see it that way
foundation helps a lot as well, as does hair if it's in your head, but the hairs got to be grown a little longer as cutting it short tends to show up the irregularities even worse than beofer

are these scars people have been treating successfully very large or are they all relatively small?
ive got 2 big scars on my forearm, from surgery to repair broken bones and wouldnt mind one of them being a bit less noticable, one has faded perfectly and the other hasnt, its quite pronounced since they removed the stitches and the scar tissue stretched as it healed
cue the show us your scar pics

I've got a monster scar on my leg from where I was hit by something that came out of a fire about 10 years ago.
Due to a skin problem I have which was really bad then they wouldn't give me a skin graft so I had to use all sorts of creams.
TBH E45 or similar is about the only thing I still occasionally use, its never healed fully and a slight knock on it and it will bleed.

Its not great, I tend to forget about it until I knock it on something.
Whatever it was that came out of the fire knocked me off my feet, it didn't even burn my jeans yet left a hole deep enough so you could see my bone in places !, ofcourse we only realised this when we cut my jeans off as my leg had swollen up so much we couldn't get them off.
The burn was 3 x 2 " and left a perfect impact mark on the opposite side where it must of sent a shock through my leg
Burns are really nasty things, it certainly didn't do me any favours
edited as i found a pic

Bio Oil is the best, I have a scar write accross my forehead. The chemist told me to use Bio Oil twice a day until i was happy with the results. I used it for around 4-6 months and now you can hardly tell it's there!

wasnt as painful as it looks really, its surgery that made it look that way, when i broke my arm the bones didnt break the skin, but the butcher of a surgeon made a right mess of me... and its been redone twice and tidied up
got some cool xrays and pics of it with staples in it etc

I use these for keloid scars on my forearms:
http://wound.smith-nephew.com/uk/node.asp?NodeId=3019
They are quite effective in my experience.
They are unfortunately quite expensive at Ł25 a sheet but they last ages and if you can get your GP to prescribe it as the NHS prescription charge is cheaper
