What is the situation with series 1 side repeaters? have noticed that alot of them havent got any but some in magazines have were they an option r have they been added at a later date?

Early cars didnt, later cars did. change in law. someone im sure will post up exact dates.

Law on side repeaters made them compulsory(sp) fro m1986, so some late C reg's had them and all D reg cars had them as standard.

ive had a few cars not just escorts that had side repeaters when i got it then ive changed the wings but the hole isnt there but they have all passed an mot, so if the holes not in the wing then dont make one....unless you want one i suppose

my mk2 golf never had side repeaters, had the holes but had planking plugs in them

Depends if your car was registered AFTER 1st April 1986 or not.
pre-86 and you don't need them fitted (if they are then they must work).

However I'd say the MOT station are being a bit picky if they insist on an S1 having side repeaters.
