Default Escort cosworth dream

I have owned a esc cos for about 6 months and i am a bit dissapointed not with the looks or performance cant ask for more just the little tings i am finding wrong with it like it knocks from cold and taps when driving ok either its tappets or cams or both so theres £700 ish to do that. Its starts in the morn and idles badly like its just going to cut out i thought it was the ECT sensor bought it fitted it but still there . Have a whinning sound from the gear box took the box out with help from friends to change the release bearing did all that and still there cost me £100 for my mates to give me a hand so its like throwing that down the drain as i couldnt ask them to do it for nothing. Now the 2 front tyres are right on the limit £200 for them and one at the back had a punture (now sorted thanks to a mate). I dont hardly drive it, i want to, i get excited its a esc cossie for christ sake but i know those things which are not quite right piss me off when driving. I am trying to save for some 18's and quad lights then you have Christmas as well Oh and the turbo blades are bent so dont want to give it too much stick incase they pop. Wish i looked at some more really did the silly mistake of buying the first one i looked at. Its been re built so i thought i wouldnt have these probs NEVERMIND

tapping might go if you use a different oil, when was it last serviced???

the tickover, might be TPS, ISCV, or the blue water sensor,

tyres are cheap if you are running std size, try 18"

oh and welcome to the joys or Coswrth ownership ,

it's meant to be fun not cheap , you want cheap get a 1.3lx

If it makes you feel any better I have piston slap when cold. But when it warms up all is good.

It is a lot of money yes but i dont want anything else, i thiks its the best looking car. I changed the oil only last month will change to a different oil next time. I changed the blue water sensor. I wasnt complaining about it being expensive just dont want to spend alll my money on the car.
