Tim, we were on about using the 9" rear upside down on the front !!

p.s i want some pics of you in that ka i hoipe you navvy was a bit of a spadger to fit in with you theres no way me and you would fit in that without getting personal
I know the 8.5 squeezes in, would .5" make a difference if you were to try with a 9"?

the 8.5" front is almost half as thin as a 9" rear,so no,a 9" would not fit.
but why try to fit a 9" rear when an 8.5" front is all you need?and this is going on a restricted rally car!!

what im trying to avoid in the front diff to sump problems that did give grief when the bolts came loose !! and fooked the diff and the sump and the engine in turn !

not only that but the cost would be less ( iff it works out that way) from buying an 8.5" passive and mag sump, plus easier servicing of the car !

if you mean on my car thats because the sump was broken and had been repaired very badly,i should never have refitted that sump before getting it repaired correctly and had the modification from the original casting done, and this was a 7.5" diff remember and does not bolt up anywhere near as well as an 8.5" but eitherway if you lock wire the bolts correctly they can never come lose ever.

the modified sump i got off bara for Ł850 was perfect once fitted.

Came across this earlier Looks like a good spec... Ought to just have bought a car like that than spending ŁŁŁŁ modding a road car

I was considering buying it just for the 9" rear diff and flogging the car on again .... Thought it was way too cheap for the spec shame...

R&D front diffs are not bad at all but it all depends on usage, people slag the 6 speed R&D but I used one for 18 months and still sold it for almost the cost price when I offloaded. R&D customer service is wank but old Rog does sell some decent stuff

Nowt to do with me Just seen it on another website Not sure how he'd get round the reverse on the crownwheel & pinion but as a cheap option and the fact that you could then run 3.14 diffs is quite interesting

I'm not knocking R&D at all, never used any of thier kit so can't comment, I seem to remember Sean was more unhappy about the lack of customer service than anything else. Sorry just thought Ruined & Destroyed sounded funny

but the car addvertised is nothing like a genuine group A car so no comparison.

a proper group A escort just sold in austria for 60,000 euros.

Proper car with the right bits would and should be about the 35K, and that car would not resemble the car in the ad at all pal.....

Its usually the scallop out of the rack that determines LH or RHD, AFAIK they were only ever produced (by Vincent) any way in LHD, we've had to modify our to get the RHD rack to fit....

Is that x-member off a race, rallycross or rally car?
