cars boost spiking after 3-3.5k ???

Default cars boost spiking after 3-3.5k ???
one minute car boosts up fine, next min @around 3k boost will cut? all boost pipes etc seem fine, any ideas? thank you

spiking means its going higher then coming down

"Spiking" = "peak" If you mean a drop in boost pressure around those revs i would say weak actuator spring

Or do you mean the boost spikes, and the overboost cuts in every now and again?

if so your boost needs turning down.

i thought it was over boosting first of all but appears its not as ive turned boost completly down on bleed valve inside car and still does it, 1 min its fine next it cuts @ 3k ive got boost set to 0.8 of a bar

What is the boost gauge reading before and while it does it?

boost gauge is all over the place, revs are around 3k and will cut boost, and then next over times it will be perfect and hold 0.8 bar nice in 4th and 5th and boost might not even be hitting 0.6

Your boost wont just "cut" unless your compressor wheel jams, is the car backfiring or anything when it hapens>? Is it like hitting a brick wall?

start with the basics plugs,leads,dissy cap and arm................(just cos they're new doesn't mean they're good)..........

Hmm... More info needed pal, could be anything from just a missfire to ecu cutting spark due to high boost or dodgy turbo

just curious could cps have anything to do with it? it ouldnt start before due to weak spark so my sisters bf who is mechanic investigated and found a break in the cps cable, repaired that and it started?

Total diferent kettle of fish... Yeah, i would try a new CPS to start with pal because they send a signal and repairs can make them go funny

car boosted fine before break and repair but engine has been apart, he said he'll check all sensors etc thursday so hopefully will reviel something, but the problem is intermittent?

Oh, efi.


check the resistance across the CPS, and whilst doing that, wobble the wireing to see if the ohm's change.

was out in the car earlier, one minute the car was fine, had it driving fine for half hour, then not boosting over 0.3 bar then once started again boosted fine for around 20miles?
