Default Some "Lovely" Xmas Day viewing.

Its not really Xmassy at all, far far from it, but if you interested in Chernobyl or Nuclear Wars or just bored, these Google Videos are well worth a watch.
And just shows how boring Xmas is if you got the Flu like I have!

This one is a BBC cocumentary about these mad bastard Russian Scientists who go INSIDE Chernobyl with next to no proctetive stuff, to see whats happening in there, and so on. All real, but fucking nuts.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=0

This one is a 1965 BBC film/documentary about a Nuclear attack in the UK, based in South East England, called The War Game.
Made back then, but wasnt shown on TV for 20years as it was likely to shit people up too much so they banned it.
To be honest its not too hash in this day and age, but its still good if you like realistic Nuclear War type stuff.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=0

This one on the other hand is just as real, if not more so, and MUCH more fucked up, and got a proper storyline to it too, more of a film, tho a fucking depressing one!
Made and based around Sheffield in the mid 80s, its again a Nuclear attack on the UK.
Watched this last night about 1am, and then had some right strange/dodgy dreams about nuclear bunkers n shit, so wouldnt reccomend this one just before bed!
Really good film though, I thought so anyhow, tho need to have a spare 1hr45mins spare.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=0

Merry Xmas

The last film, tho about the most depressing and dark film ever made, is fantastic if you like that kind of thing, deffo the best of the 3 IMO.

Only bit I dont get, is how they were powering the TV that the kids were watching near the end, but by then you will already be building your bunker or commiting suicide, so a strange bit of the film wont matter, lol

as above..

has the cover been re done?

I cant believe the plant carried on working with the other 3 reactors.

Is it now closed completly?

That film has just left me with more questions than it answered!!!

chernobyl is still running IIRC and they still not afforded to finish the proper metal cover for it yet. meant to be a fair while till they can afford it too!

did you see the sizes of the holes in the current cover? up to 10 meters square, lol. and thats how it was built, thats ignoring the fact its falling apart now!

yeah, Threads is the properly messed up one, fucked up film that is esp as its all totally realistic.
im pretty sure i had nightmares after watching that the other night, i cant remember em, but think i did

deffo rather be dead.
that bird for example, bf died when it went off, gran soon died at home and they had to pretty much keep her body there, mum had half her face burnt off, and her mum n dad got their faces smashed in and killed by looters not long after, she finally had her kid on her own, 10yrs later she finally dies of the radiation, her 10-11yr old daughter who is now alone gets raped by one of her friends, and gives birth to a dead mutated baby.
lovely.
and thats just 1 of the people.

Threads is a fucked up thing, but at same time, one of the best films ive ever seen. Not an entertainment film as such, but you need to see it, seriously.

Just as a side note, on the 5th Jan (I think it is) there is a program on at 7pm about how the world nearly ended in November 1983 when the Russian computer that monitored the American Nuclear Warhead launch sites developed a fault and declared that USA launched 5 missiles, when infact, it was high-level cloud.

Should make interesting viewing as with anything from the Cold War era
