Default Car won`t start???

Just gone out to the car and it won`t start. Well it does, sounds like its out of fuel but plenty in the tank. Does anyone know where the fuel pump cutoff switch please? Its a Mondeo ST200 on a v reg.

Thanks, Ed.

Cheers Tabetha, found it but unfortunatly is not the problam. I`m starting to think its an alarm problam as the hazard lights are going mental now and i can`t turn them off. Arrrggghhh!!!

Tried a spare key aswell but to no avail...

I havan`t looked at the injectors but the car will start first time from the key but dies straight away and if you try to rev it, it just pops and stalls like when you run out of fuel.

I drove it home from work this morning which is about a 5 minute trip and was fine and now i`ve left it and this happens.

Sounds like some sort of mapping problem, but hard to diagnose over the net!!

Hope you get it sorted soon!

Mapping problem? Do elaborate. More like immobiliser/alarm considering the indicators are going mad

I`m pretty much conviced its the immobiliser now, only thing i can think of is to disconnect the battery, wait, then reconnect. If that don`t work then it will have to wait untill the new year...

it does sound like your immobiliser but the hazards shouldn't be going off as this is linked to your alarm side

a few things worth trying:

does the fuel pump prime when you put the ignition on ?
if not check the fuse

as you have a spare key - use the spare in the ignition and hold the main key near the actual ignition lock , hold it the wrong way around so the red chip is nearest the lock and try to start it , this will make sure the pats is reading a chip

if all else fails a auto alarm fitter will be able to completely disarm the whole thing in about half hour and wont cost too much

Cheers for the advice, i checked but no joy. I have however just unplugged the MAF sensor and it starts straight up!

Safe to assume thats what it is? Although that don`t solve the hazard light problam...
