Default Pectel monitors - All about

I am interested in these crappy shonky Pectel monitors ( ) and would like to buy one. Does anyone knows more about the various versions, the options, .... ?

I don't remember seeing a quite serious and complete discussion about the oldy Pectel monitor.

I've got the one Ryan had for sale

Its been built into a dash pod with a larger screen.

I've not used it yet but from what I aware it does the same as the normal monitors do but will also monitor EGT.

Until I've actually wired it up I cant comment on exactlyl what it does but if anyone knows I'd like to know

I believe it has Kelv.

Its got a lot of connectors on the dash itself for either inputs or outputs for something.

It would be handy know what isn't needed as I'll be cutting it into a Mk2 escort dash, I'd rather just have the large lcd screen and 2 knobs on show

Btw I had few questions I sent to Pectel, but yet they haven't answered me, here is one which I think is important :

- How many minutes can a Pectel Monitor DATALOG ? Heard 10 minutes but sounds too little. If its right, is there any chance to change the internal memory because a rallystage can take up to 30-40minutes so it would be great to have more space to record.

I will tell you about the price this weekend as I might buy one in the next 3 days. Budget is max 500Ł for a full specs one (warning lights, EGT/oil press/fuel press capability).

Ok sounds better now !

Last thing I need to know is if you can add the warning lights if one hasn't got them ? It is quite important if anyone knows I would be happy to know if you can or not.

Have you thought about using a Collins Monitor? Pretty much the same as a Pectel unit, but i'm not sure if you can add functionality like warning lights/extra inputs to it.

Which is why I want a Pectel one as I need the extra input for EGT and oil pressure especially. Don't want to add 2 more gauges but the Collins monitor is good yes.

Still a member here as one for sale but without the warning lights, and if it is possible to add these I will buy it but if not then no. I need the warning lights.

Won't change my ECU as it has been mapped with the engine I've got so I better buy just the monitor now, and as it has got a pectel engine loom it is just plug and play.

Just need to find a Pectel monitor now, or if it is possible to add the warning lights there is one for sale here I can buy.

Pectel monitor will datalog for 60 minutes, but it does depend on how many channels you are logging.

XEN, I'm not sure, I'll see if I can find my 'manual' later on and see what it says....

Mike Rainbird may be able to help re: the warning lights - worth a PM.

Yes just red that. It is really a shame Pectel never published manuals of the various software versions with features, .... I know that's because they wouldn't have any money after selling them (no need of them if you can do it yourself) but still...
