I did mine myself Marco, about ten long craft Knifes and an hour or so shitting myself that it would break
The screen on your car will no doubt have been out at some point so wont be bonded in as much as when it left the factory, should give it a try yourself and just be patient.

I do it for a living, and more often than not, if a screens been replaced it can be incredibly hard to trake out - mainly as the glue we use today is stronger than the stuff used even only just 5yrs ago, and also because we use primers on the body and glass that aren't used in the factory, resulting in a better bond and better adhesion of glass to bodywork....
On an escos - remove scuttle, and you also need to remove the trim around glass. Don't even bother trying to save this as it's metal impregnated (down the sides) and will bend like fuck getting it out. New one isn't a lot of money from Ford, even cheaper if you go into an automotive glass company and buy one......
Easiest way to remove screen without breaking it is to "wire it out" - we use a thin square wire whcih cuts through the glue from the outside in, and in most cases the screen survives intact.
If you was closer Marco I'd do it for you and it's no sweat on one of these - but birmingham is a bit of a trek for me!

marco polo - You can do pal, and if I was doing it to save the screen, I would use it. Ours is square silver wire, bout a mm in diameter or so, and thread it around the through the bond between the screen at the bottom, then using handles on the inside, you can pull it through - basically garotting the screen
Not all mk5 screens are heated no, there's three types - clear non heated, green non heated and green heated. Some of the greens, heated and not, are available with blue top tints.
I am not 100% sure if EsCos screens ARE identical to normal mk5 screens, as I have only ever done one escos and it was 3 or 4 years ago and I can't remember if the part number was the same as a regualr mk5 scort.... Shall find out for you 2morrow if I remember!
kjc300 - take your scuttle off (two wipers, and 5 or 6 philips screws beneathe the little round plastic covers along the visible outside of the scuttle. Scuttle is clipped down underneath but these are pop out clips (part of the scuttle) Will feel like it's gonna break - it isn't Never broken one in the hundreds of these I have done In the two corners under the scuttle you will find the terminals. Should have a black plug both sides and a brown (sometimes black) wire with a ring terminal on bolted to the inside of each inner wing. Often the bolts come loose resulting in one side not working. Tighten up if ness, and check with a multimeter to see if power getting to both sides (remember you need engine running and button pressed in for it to have power!) If all connetions are fine and one side still not working, then one of the filaments running through the screen is probably broken New screen is the only cure

Hi Marco
thrush is correct, please don't use a knife, even worse a sharp one.
The guys in the garage took out my screen and the rally car screen in about 5 mins. They used the wire that Thrush uses, the hardest part was getting it started and of course sometimes the wire breaks midway. They didn't break a screen yet.
I even helped to re-install the screen by applying the black adhesive after the car was repainted and I have electrics background, not mechanical. Find a couple of those yellow / black suction pads and attach to the front. With two people it works out just fine.
Good luck.
kenny.

If you get stuck and need gear;
http://www.abbeypowertools.co.uk/car...tem-10293.aspx
Same type of wire we use
And these are similar, but just as effective handles to use with the wire;
http://www.abbeypowertools.co.uk/car...516-69730.aspx
And this is what I use t ofeed the wire into the car;
http://www.abbeypowertools.co.uk/car...533-65549.aspx
If I get a chance 2morrow, I'll see if I can get you some step by step pics of setting it up if you like. Won't be on an EsCos (unless someones booked one in without me knowing it ) but general principal is the same
