Default Is it ALL lorry drivers or????????????????

Are all lorry drives thick or are just some of them dunces?

How come they have started to think road signs dont apply to them now only sat nav?

Lorries going down narrow lanes with low or narrow bridges or lanes too narrow for them and no where to turn around because

'' the sat nav has sent me down here officer '' LMFAO

Look at the road signs wally brains

What signs?
Very few prohibit hgv's.
"Access only" - Wouldn't go down road unless needed access somewhere.
"Except for access" - As above.
"Unsuitable for large vehicles etc" - which are blue, thus advisory.
Width and weight one's I often ignore, pubs are often in villages down little lanes.
Some of the worst lanes have no restrictions or advisory signs anyway.
Weight limits aren't really enforced unless there are complaints.

Height ones are valid enough, as are narrow bridges lol.

Only ever come unstuck due to arseholes in cars parking like complete fuckwits, I must admit.

Can't have been much in it? Lol.
We just beat ours through, so old and tatty.
Often widths and heights have a fair margin - can squeeze lorries under bridges that are lower than lorry usually, but you wonder who's the first to try that one

Don't know unless you try

thats quite true c4llyt, i have to go under a bridge marked '13.9' on a daily bases. my lorry is 14.2 and happilly goes under. what about the stupid car drivers that think its fine to slip into your blind spot whilst your sat at lights waiting to make a nasty left turn. as for sat nav, i never use them, think they are shit and would'nt pay 2 or 3hundred for some thing my maps books do a perfectly good job of. please lets not pick on truck drivers as there are plenty of thick car drivers who havent had half as much training as hgv drivers.

What my workmate always said 'til ours saved us loads of time with shortcuts.
One 2.5 hour route he'd tried every way, satnav showed 20 minute quicker way. Good when you're on task and finish
He was logistics chappy in army for 25 years, so obviously stuck to maps, but soon changed his opinion.

It's an absolute godsend. Other day caught in an accident on dual carriageway. I turned satnav on, he said no point.
Put in avoid roadblock ahead, directed us off down some lanes adding 5 minutes to the 50 mile journey home, instead of who knows how long in accident.

TomTom One Ł130 now

On topic, they're starting to sort the maps out for hgv's now, not before time!
They did say they wouldn't do it, but is going ahead

but the parking like fuckwits is fun... the only few that hang out further than the rest...generally wake up to no wing mirror on the roadside
clipped a few wheels before when they have been left on full lock pointing into the road....
and i dont feel guilty, theres something called COMMON SENCE that would stop it happening, park like a dick get treated like one when someones liveleyhood is on the line if quotas aint met

but why do the guys in the slower HGV have an annoying nack of not flashing the turbo HGV in and leaving about 400 yards gap before they do??? Is it a little man syndrome thing or what? Many a times Ive flashed the trucks to let them back in as the slower ones just leave it so late.
Got a lot of respect for some drivers, cant be easy having all that weight behind and having to accomadate idiots late braking and cutting them up, but there are some poor ones just like in any other vehicle.

Very very rarely do you not get flashed back in, and most of the times you don't there's such a speed differential there's no need.
Also, the overtaking driver should be able to judge when he's clear, not that difficult.
Honestly don't see much of what you refer to, and am on the roads50+ hours a week.

As for the parking, I've no sympathy taking mirrors off, had a couple in the same place - school mums.
Bloke was parked right out one day, was left blocking road for ten minutes, then he mentioned "bloody lorries".
Soon had the prick apologising when I told him was no bigger than a fire truck.

the HGV's round my way are starting to use the narrow back roads as a short-cut, they never done it until recently. some of them i recognise the livery on them and i know for a fact they arent delivering to rural areas

and the reason they are doing it? cos the main roads in the area are all clogged up with hgv's lol

so before, i had a viable alternative to the main roads which are full of hgv's going 20-30mph, now i dont.

and the government refuses all applications for upgrading roads in the area to dual carriageway.

Are hgv's prohibited on these roads?
Advisory signs are far more common than prohibitive signs, least on my travels

a polish lorry driver put his artic down a road with a 6"6 restriction, with no way to back up because it was round a sharp corner

st georges road in w7

stick it into google maps and see if you think you could string a 40 foot artic round them streets

Hmm
That's just silly!
Still, cheaper labour...

I do a pub in Woodgreen (Fordinbridge) early monday mornings.
Twice I've had artic drivers ask where somewhere is, to which I reply 100 miles North - Wood green in London is what they're after!
Always have an atlas to doublecheck the satnav if going somewhere new ffs
Pain in the arse waiting behind them for 10 minutes while they shunt to get round the pissy little bridge

Indeed, they are a pain in the arse to be stuck behind, but without them you'd be stood naked in the middle of a muddy field.

Thanks to the EU working time directive nonsense, that would mean a massive increase in the price of all goods

If I start before 4am, can't do more than 10 hours work - classed as night worker.
Is a pain in the arse!

Not a horrible answer, just the facts

my mate does royal mail stuff
starts at 7 and finishes at around 4 in the morning so i know what you mean

but there needs to be something done about it, perhaps there just needs to be a threashold on the slower and faster lorries so certain ones won't sit in the middle lane while not overtaking the one next to them

No wind up, but you need an overtake button.
Why I hate it every time they scrap an old lorry of ours (always mine...) as turn key back a bit, and can do knocking on 70.
I always did this to not hold people up.
Really the overtaken lorry needs to give if they both hit identical limiters, I do, don't really lose anything on the flat, just being an arsehole holding all the traffic up if not.

Always leaves lane 3 free in your example, so not the end of the world, but 2 lane dual carriageway is a pain.
Think in Germany lorries aren't allowed to overtake, just have to sit there.
Other places not allowed to overtake if it's raining, things like that.

only certain stretches of 2 lane roads (motorway or dual carriageway) at certain times - but that helps no end during times of congestion and up hill sections
