Thats true, there are more 996 Turbo owners on here than Boxster owners!

Rudey, E46 M3's are amazing amazing cars.... if I had to own just one car... it would be the E46 M3. So practical, usable, fast, good looking, comfy etc etc...

but if I was going to take out one car for the sheer fun of driving. Boxster everytime. My 996 Turbo is soooooo much faster its not funny... but the Boxster is the better drive! They need lowering, and performance exhaust and induction mods otherwise they look a bit poo and sound like sewing machines though

SMG Cab. Carbon black red leather, ACSniz Exhaust, derestricted.... the choice of champions... 3500miles of dead flys are optional

Good enough for 177mph on TOMTOM on a french Peage... (they are like Autobhans aren't they? )

To be honest its not surprising the Boxster feels better.

One has the engine the middle like a racing car does and 2 good size boots (one at each end ) and is supremely balanced and you can rev the nuts off it and make it sing in everygear and still be only doing 28mph... oh and the roof drops oh and it costs buttons to run and drinks less petrol than an electric lawnmower!

The other has the a stupidly power engine behind the rear wheels?!?!? I mean WHAT???? It has no boots space to talk off (engine at back and drive shafts and fuel tanks at front) It has useless rear seats that even Mini me would complain about and its soooo powerful that you can't really enjoy it anywhere other than very empty Autobhans or tracks!

Its a no brainer.... and when Porsche REALLY pushed the boat out and built a proper HYPERCAR, they made the Carrera GT and they put the engine where it should be and apparently they drive like 600bhp Boxsters. THATS why I want one! oh and they are droptops

I love em both though. Turbo is cool like Pamela Anderson is sexy... where as the Boxster is like amazing like Keira Knightly is...

If you follow me? I mean.... would you really take Pam home to meet your nan or to a business meeting. You just know its all gonna end in tears one day as well Where as Keira is a bird for all occasions.

What the hell am I going on about

Femenine baby... but lovely in my eyes...

They NEED modding though. Sound pants as standard. But induction kit... and manifolds and exhaust and dump the cats and the roar like a GT3 and whats better YOU get to hear the engine as it sooo close to your head!

The 911's sound great.... from the OUTSIDE! too quiet inside as engine is miles away!

arghh.... thought not

E46 is THE best normal money all round car in the world in my experience but its not a real fun sportscar like the Boxster.

Different cars for different purposes...

id LOVE a boxster,, they are mondeo money these days,,,, they soo much car for the cash its just silly

ok the fools who no NOTHING give the " its a poor mans porsche" bollox

also they aint gonna drop much more in value either,, you aint gona see them for 6k for a long time

if only they made em with the silly usless seats the 911 has then i WOULD have one

i love em,,, they tick all the boxes apart from the missus would have to follow on a bus or moped ( not like ive thought about it,,, honesy )

M3's are a good deal at the min too,, trying to convince my mate to sell hes CLK and buy a M3,,, but the "black mans wagon" and crime following of BMW's in the 90's mean he wont get one,,TOSSER

still driving a auto CLK when i need to aint all THAT bad,,,, just no good to borrow for the ring trip

All those that have just about scraped together enough money for a Boxster (I'm not suggesting thats everyone in question here), have you considered running costs? Surely with a car like that, proper servicing is important and I would have thought that costs?

We see alot of customers that have realised that they can afford a 500bhp R33/R34 Skyline, but when it needs a clutch and you tell them that they need a Twin-plate at £1000+, they tend to shit themselves.

lots of pattern parts available for boxsters mate,,,,, i work for a company that makes parts and we do a clutch/brake pads/discs/exhaust's for em

the days of shite pattern parts are over now that manufacturers get the bigger companys to make there parts for em

out brakes are actually made by ferrodo,, and brake engineering make some of them for ferrodo who then sell them on to us as ferrodo parts that we label as our own

i got a ferrari 308 rear silencer going CHEEP if anyones interested,,, if i sell it for 50 quid i get 50 quid bonus plus a day off paied

i sold a really old system for a rolls royce that was part of the deal and i was never told about it

anyway back on topic

Had my Boxster S for 2 years full 48k service £480
12k £200

If the clutch needed doing on them (as mine was still on the original)
£750 using genuine parts..
It was a fantastic car but was sold for the 348

I just was'nt doing the miles to justify keeping it in the garage
plus i prefered driving it with the roof up

M3 id fantastic though they just had toomany toys waiting to go wrong for my liking

ps: on a serious note ive NEVER commented on gambling, the ONLY time in my life ive EVER gambled is dog racing where i betted on trap 5 for the start, won fuck all and went to trap 4 and trap 5 came in, went to 6 and 5 came in,, went BACK to 5 and trap 3 came in

i put 5 quid on the nose on each race and was the only person to NOT WIN FUCK ALL !!!

i dont gamble as ANYTHING ive betted on ive lost !!

never even put a quid on the lottery in my life or used a fruit machine, never betted on a horse or even walked in a bookies

ill admit i taken drugs once
