Default Fiesta Diesel Pump.

My mate at work has got a 51 reg Fiesta TD, and the diesel pump has packed in.

What should he be paying to get it sorted? Is it a bastard of a job?

timrud, im going through the same with my fiesta mate - its a mother fooker of a job - cambelt off, etc.

Prob looking around £1k if not more.

Altho I can get these sorted out for much cheaper now - just waiting for my pump to return.

Have you plugged the diagnostic in and what were the codes? Also did you plug the diagnostic directly to the pump and if so what was the code?

Yeah he has had it on a diagnostic. the RAC towed him to a garage, they checked it then said they don't do diesel pumps

Another garage took it from there and they have it now... and guess what... they are saying about a grand wounded.

Was hoping somebody on here knew a slightly cheaper option, but I'll tell him to bite the bullet if your in the same boat

Unsure on the codes it threw out.

dont the pumps on these have to be reprogrammed to the ecu due to the immobilisor (excuse the spelling) and fuel shut off valve? maybe thats part of the big expense?

the pumps dont need re-coding as if you get them done proper - all the codes are cleared and then when you refit and turn on ignition it gets all the codes from the ECU.

I just got my new pump through today so gonna get that put on the next few days.

Tim pm me your details and I will see what I can sort out - whats the car details, age, year, etc. Hope he dont mind waiting a couple of weeks due to the festive season tho.

Im trying to get mine sorted straight for cash as am not really bothered about a receipt
