Default Buying something not as described, what to do

OK guys heres one for you,you se soemthing advertised on this site by a gold member.he post a description and sizes and photos, thats fine you call him to confirm the details send the money have it collected job done.
Only then to find its damaged which isnt the problem it will repair BUT when the item is a cossie head and the deck hight has been posted what its suspose to be and then truns out its no where near.what do you do ??
I have PMed the guy in question asking to resolve this matter and Iam getting no where, all Iam gettig accused off is trying to extract money from him
now I have put a claim in to my courier for the damge which is only going to be about £50 to get it repaired but Iam then left with a head which is not as described and a seller that dont give two fucks
now if the sistuation was different and it was me that had done this all hell would have broken loose
I have given the guy 2 weeks to sort something out and now hes ignoring me

Using Paypal as a buyer is good, paypal usually side with the buyer not the seller.

Bummer...

its a difficult one to prove either way though as either one of you could be at it .i dont mean that as an insult just as a statement of fact. you can claim its not the stated size but he can counter claim that the head he sent out was as described and you have swapped heads to get your cash back.
i think the only way would be if the seller/trader took it back as a gesture of goodwill and issued a refund but if he's denying it point blank then theres not much chance of that.
name names and see how this thread goes when he responds but its likely you will just have to put it down to a bad experience and a future lesson learned.

You should be getting your money back, not sold as described... With you 100% of the way on this one ... measuring the depth of the head is a 5 min job for any decent engineering firm, unless it has just been guessed at or massaged to make it saleable ...

I know this story and the bloke got his . in the wrong place

I agree tho Pete , if you sold a head as ( unskimmed ) and then its turns out its actually below the min then you would have about 10,000 people calling you everything poss ,,He must have known it was skimmed to fuck
