i'd really like to do a ferrari or lambo driving experience. bit worried tho that the cars are restricted or you cant accelerate hard in 1st gear, have to short shift etc. Its probably more than the instroctors jobs are worth to let you give it too much hammer

I did the single seater one at Rockingham, on the infield, a few years back. That was great fun. Especially overtaking 4 cars on the straight, and into the first corner. Got a bollocking for that though, as I forgot we weren't supposed to "aggressively" overtake lol.

Porkie

What sort of money is the one you posted? Can't seem to find prices on that page.

Have always like the idea of doing a driving day but restricted revs or worse still going up and down a straight runway at restricted revs seems totally shit.

You will be pushed Harder than you ever thought possible!

Watch the Vids of the Jag JP1s.... They are just amazing. Even Martin got out and looked a bit shell shocked! You will be coming down the main Straight and when you go past the 'Brake now' boards the Instructors are screaming at you 'GAS GAS... PULL' as in pul back on the Sequential lever to change into another GEAR!!!! and in equal measure!

Price is actually a bargain when you consider how much driving you do I've done it over 10 times now and STILL get excited the day before! Łabout 800

cool. your right, its good considering what you get. I take it they do a half way house type of event too in which you still get to drive the cars, albeit less of them, properly and not short shifting, parade lap esque gay style!? lol

Trust me.... they DO hold you back anywhere apart from Bedford!

Because Bedfords the ONLY place you can spin off at well over 100mph and not hurt yourself or the cars...

without being bigheaded... I can drive and I know Bedford and the cars VERY well....

But I know when I do that day I am going to have at least 5 spins in the day!!!

Its also the ONLY day thats properly timed, and ULTRA competitive...

oh and its also the ONLY day where you REALLY don't want to drive anymore!

You REALLY do get knackered out from all the driving.

Its slick, its professional and its simply the BEST day out a petrol head can have... AND its great value when you look at the cars and what a normal trackday REALLY costs....

Its an 8am to 5pm experience and you will smile for WEEKS!

lots of rally days tend to not allow much time in the cars, sometimes groups are to large as well,
what i do is have 6-10 folk per day from 9.30am until 4pm spilt between two training cars, both 1.7 pumas that are stage prepared with bucket seats and harness's etc, some just use road cars.we try to spend as much time in the car as possible.teaching everything required for the stages proper.coaching is with fully qualified msa stage rally drivers, thn we move on to impreza's and evo mitsubishi's,our venue is fairly big and open so room to learn without risk,we can alter it to suit the drivers requirements and we can offer one on one tuition for both drivers and co drivers from novice upwards.

our hot lap for spring 2008 onwards will be in an ex ford focus wrc, nobody offers that in the uk,if the world!!

I do alot of client entertaining. I will do this with you next year 100%... as long as we can do it within reasonable distance of London somewhere. Say 1.30 drive max.

Whats min and max numbers for a day... or I can just call you in January if its easier?

nearest to london we can do it is near leeds, our home base is in cumbria but only 1 hour from newcastle airport,we did a large corperate day last month with 80 guests using 3 rally cars, everybody got a "hotlap" in a full spec car some got 2 runs in a 3 hour period, was very busy but that was 80 guests.

for a larger cost we can do a forest experience for upto 100 guests with a 4 mile stage and hospitality etc,or as few as 10 guests which would mean alot more time in the cars but more indavidual costs.

Tim,
thats some amount of people to look after, if they all listen then it's not too bad I suppose, do the cars survive?

some friends of mine are off to Finland in January for a few days to drive some Evo 9's in the snow. I think theres 6 of them alltogether and they get a car each.

I would like to go but need to put the 3000 Euro back into my own car.

kenny.

hello kenny,

on corperate days like that we dont let them drive, its all "hot laps" but once you have been over the same route 50 times you can drive very impresively to the un initiated!,its great watching their feet looking for a brake pedal,i always change up hen they do this, ive got a really great place with some very tight gates and fast corners but i know it like the back of my hand, every bump and ripple.i use moulded slicks on gravel for extra effect.
so far cars have survived and on my school days i always have a spare there, even have dual controls on one car to tame the hot heads.

Cosworth Rallyesport

How much would the day cost? for one on one tuition and alternatively for say a group of 5?

I'm very interested in doing this in the new year.

Did a Ferrari experiance one of the instructors let me push a 355 for 3 laps. But the other instructors were always telling to brake really early for the corners, I didn't listen all the time but it started to get annoying. And 2nd and 3rd gear on the 360 were shagged.

Overal I wasn't very impressed. My mates dad did one and he said it was crap as well. I did mine with Everyman it was a 21st b'day present, I think my age might have been why the instructors were all ways keeping on to me.

Not saying it wasn't good. It just didn't live up to my expectations I guess.
