hi all

i have a 1.1 pov spec mk3 with no ecu (!)

im waiting on a 2.0 but for the time being im having fun with what i have. i got a rev counter for free of my friend and wired it up, but it onl gives out half readings?

heres a pic

its wired into the green wire second in on the left, the wire which would be for the rev counter if i have one (!)

Its because (and i am just assuming this bit) the rev counter you have is for a coil not coil pack and is not suitable for a edis bassed system so what you need to do is this;

And that should get you a proper reading

Yeh there diodes that you install onto the coil pack wires that then give you the right signal for the rev counter to work properly.

Look in maplins or somewhere similar and you should be able to get them

As long as all 3 diodes are there and you take the feed to the counter off the Zener diode it should work fine
