it took me and a mate 2 days (minus rebuild & gathering time) to change his escort from a 1.3 to 1.8... so i suppose it could be done if you get it all together and someone who knows whats going on!

Depending on how good with a set of spaners you are should take no more than a day.
Not sure on loom but it should be ok.
Wheels will need to come of so you can take the drive shafts out the box if your going to take the whole lot out.
Just taking the engine can be a pain in the arse depends on how you feel.
If it was me i would be taking both out and swapping the box over and back in.

iirc, and ive just had this argument with my mates, as were both doing 2.0 engine conversions into a si,

ive got the right ecu, a 2.0 desk one,
hes got a rs1800

now, i reckon his wont work, as the law of the conversion says, you have to use a ecu with the prefix desk (if itsf from a 2.0 mondy)

i dont no any one whos used a rs1800 engine with a fiesta si loom

is your ecu external pats, if so, it wont work straight away, also is internal or external edis, it must be exturnal, other wise, again it wont work

conversion is piss easy as yours is already a 1.8, so has correct water pump and sump,
easily do able in a day,

we plan to do both of ours, including swapping the ancilirys over in a weekend.

hope this helps

well i dont see why the loom wont work as the loom is a loom.

as long as its the right ecu i should be fine?

mk3 and mk3.5 fiestas are completely different,

then the mk3.5 xr2i have different looms to the si,

like i said, itsall to do with;

whether the car your getting the ecu from has internal or external pats (pats is the sercurity system)

and whether it has internal (inside the ecu) or external (out side the ecu) edis (electronic distributerless ignition system)

the si has external pats, internal edis, so as long as your ecu is of this configuration then it mightbe ok,

go on www.fiesta-si.com there is a guid and a ecu pin diagram

some zetec models have the igintion and injector pins in different places.

RS1800 into a 1.6 Si is straight swap with the right RS1800 ecu. This is what i had before my tuned 2.0.

Reckon you could you doit in a weekend easily as its basically plug and play
