Default Petrol price petition

Gotta be worth a click....

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/CUT-PETROL-COST/

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to REDUCE THE PETROL PRICES TO BELOW 90p PER LITRE IN LINE WITH EU PRICES.

Submitted by Victoria Allen – Deadline to sign up by: 20 January 2008 – Signatures: 736

Petrol prices have gone through the roof - it is time to petition the government in recognition of the fact that their VAT on fuel is unacceptable for the British motorist. No where else in Europe suffers the same punishment on motorists. VAT on fuel is nothing to do with environmental concerns - it is another way of the government unjustly taxing the hard working British public.

'Pissing in the wind' springs to mind

They need X amount of money to run the country, would only come from elsewhere if they cut fuel duty.
(Yes I know they waste a lot but they won't sort that...)

I know you need to do something, but don't see why they would take any notice of that.

That kinda attitude is how they get away with shafting us with silly taxes though

It is doing SOMETHING rather than nothing though.
Personally I'd rather we all blockaded Downing Street 'til petrol was 50p a litre, but until that day comes I'll happily sign petitions.

Put petrol in the search on that website though.

Also quite amusing searching for various petitions on there. Amazing what people waste timing trying to make law.

Its simple. Vote them out as soon as the possiblity arises! It's the only way! But by then, the current government members will be so rich, they wont care anyway!
