not too sure on the differences between the silver tops and black tops but this site is pretty useful when sticking zetecs when cvh's used to live

Doing a silver top is easy as mate you only need a water pump from an rs180 fez and job done realy not that much dif to a cvh but the black top has a diff water pump and im not sure how to get it to spin the right way or if there are any block diff's.

What about using the silver top bottom end with the black top head ?

Not sure if it all fits together but its a thought.

Engine mounts are all the same. You'll need to use a 1.8 sump and pick up (so the exhaust clears), and a 1.8 flywheel if u want to use the mk3/4 box. The head needs retapping for the cvh thermostat housing. Water pump wise, i'm going to use an electric one. Engine mount is the same.

All the black top sumps are the same you only change the sump for a silver top zetec.

Just wondering why your going to use the cvh thermostat housing too?

to a 1.8 silver top, not 2.0 silver top sump...

I was led to beleive the hoses were differemt, using a cvh stat housing means direct fit of coolant hoses.

I'm using the black top engine mate not the silver one and as far as im aware you can use the zetec stat housing without issues its what i used when i fitted a silver top last time your right about using the 1.8 sump on a silver top but all the black tops have the same sump if i remember correctly

When my donor engine arrives i'll be able to figure it all out!

im putting a 2.0 na zetec in a fiesta, you stil need the 1.8 sump, to clear a normal down pipe.

wont go in other wise
