Default Rolling rd block M25

Event Info
Name: ROLLING ROAD BLOCK - M25 - MONDAY 3RD DECEMBER 7am - 10am
Tagline: Between J7 and J15
Host: NO FUEL DAY - MONDAY 19th NOVEMBER 2007
Type: Causes - Protest
Date: Monday, December 3, 2007
Time: 7:00am - 10:00am
Location: M25
City/Town: London, United Kingdom

The Government have not listened to the public and continue to expect us to pay an extortionate amount of tax on fuel. This really is one course of action that has been proven to work. I know some of you may have doubts about this type of protest but we must act together for this to have any affect. The idea is to perform a rolling road block on Monday 3d December during the morning rush somewhere between the Gatwick and Heathrow junctions of the M25 and back again (leaving the hard shoulder clear for emergency services). Please only join the event if you are genuinley interested. I would especially like to hear from any haulage drivers that would be willing to take part. I'll post further updates nearer the time!

Just come across this on another site, thought i would post it up here incase people aint seen it

I'm doing it.

We're all meeting at the Shell Petrol station in Egham to fill up before it starts!

What a load of sweaty bollocks.

Oh no, it did actually happen..... Was one of the biggest organised vehicular based protests in UK history - a good couple hundred vehicles showed up to take part!

Actually, 30,000 other vehicles showed up aswell. They weren't part of the official "road block" but due to numbers, the traffic did indeed move at a snails pace all morning.

All in all, a very successfull protest!

but how does this work? ok ur causing mayhem but your still using petrol etc (even more so taking part) so taxes which we are protesting against are being payed? why not turn engines of for 24 hours on m25 or something? would cause mayhem

It's as pointless as the "boycott" days, when people boycott going to petrol stations. Nice one, you didn't go in a petrol station for a week. Thing is at the end of the week, you couldn't get in to one cos every other fucker was in there trying to fill up cos they had used all the petrol they had during the boycott Really worked that one

What? It would'nt be safe for a parking warden to walk round a bunch of non-moving vehicles?

What do you think they do all day?

they'd be sitting on the hard shoulder eating doughnuts *

*for the benifit of our recent alleged american purchaers,** we have bits of road that you are not allowed to drive on on our motorways (freeway's/highways) as they are reserved for football managers and local politicans to use as they are greater than us mere mortals

**if pet still owns the site then i can imagine they'll be eating clairs or the like
