Ive just bought a new motor, fitted with a clifford G5 with "telestart" or so im told. Anyone any idea what this is please? And how does it work....

It's 'INTELLISTART', which is a remote start system. You have to 'prime' the system (by pressing a certain button on the remote) before you turn the engine off, then remove the key (which will leave the engine running), before getting out and setting the alarm. The engine will then stop. When you return to the car, you can start it remotely, as long as the alarm wasn't triggered in your absence.

This process is how the car knows that it isn't in gear and can start safely.

Very clever.

i had it on mine and i think you armed it by pressing clifford twice then two stars on the remote.do this when the car is ticking ova and dont touch anything.if you have done it right the cars indicators will stay on.then take the key out and it will stay ticking over,shut the car and lock it with the remote.this will shut the car down and when you want to start it up you press the one star button and it should start up.get in the car put the key in to the run possition and when you press the brake it turns it off to run normal.its good to warm the turbo up before running the car.just not 100% if it is clifford twice and one star then two star to start it back up or clifford twice and two star then one star to start it up,if you get me.try both
