Hi Peeps,

Can anyone tell me how to go about downloading music from the net ???
I want to use my laptop as a music storage device and hook it up to my stereo speakers but I haven't got a clue where to start i.e. music sites, software, how to connect pc to speakers etc, etc.

Anyone help?

If you want to try downloading from IRC... here's a little guide

may be easier to start off with WinMX or something like that.

I'm not computer techie at all, can't you just go to a site click on the tune you want and download it to your hard drive then just download a software package to play it through stereo speakers ???

 

irc may be a little to confusing to start with, but its worth learning

but yeah try winmx or shareazza, just be aware of what youve got in your *share* file

 

Lol..well.. you could always try http://www.mp3search.com/

as MP3 Lee suggested..if you use WinMX or anything like that..beware of what you are sharing (make a folder and share that, so none of your personal documents are in there).

Get software called KazzaLite++, its run from a server in Chile( i think) and is great no shite

 

why dont Pf have a IRC channel we could all joun it and DCC mp3 to eack othere

It's not actually used at the moment... only running on my internal network... but if people wanted to use it.. I could open the firewall/router and allow incoming connections
