I just don't buy it sorry guys, i build cluster servers for my group quite often and cost them. just working out the cost and the amount of money this site generates, why the fook has a cluster setup not been implemented. seem to think that the only reason a forum would be bought is if it would make money .

lets just say I support much bigger sites then this. just do a search for Northcliffe media group and Associated media group. just did a blade server upgrade last night for them worked all night and all day on it. maby I am tired and fooked off, but I feel we are being taken up the garden path

Thats fine mate and its your perrogative to see it how you wish, although again, i re-itterate i fail to see what difference it makes to you and suggest you may be complaining for the sake of it. But that view is also my perrogative of course and may be just as wrong as yours.

Incidentally i googled them and dont see anything that will move much in the way of heavy badwidth or high processor occupancy, nor do i see why you suggest a blade server would make any odds to traffic expectations.

we handle all of the the country's regional web sites on one blade setup, with 2 DR sites. must admit the amount of money we spend is far more than you guys could re coupe on here and thinking about it you will need a SAN and at least 2 proc quad core dl360's and I fiber switch, basic costing 25k to 35k

i really cant see out of all the posts why people are moaning. does it really matter if its sold or whatever. if Pets happy and Stu is happy then so be it. its there toy. if money is made out of it fair enough if there aint then who cares aint ours.

sorry Stu I am a evil cunt at the mo, PS the only way a cluster would be a advantage is in down time as they will not be any.

but if the pipe bandwith or server spec is shit, SQL, site programming, configuration is shit it still will be slow, but then again the cluster will not fail. but if it has ODBC time out fails it will not fail over as ther is nothing wrong with the server

From ALL these posts about this same topic,i for one couldn't give 2 fucks about if its been sold to some organization....We, as users will still get the same service at the end of the day(maybe even better be it with a few more adverts) i think.........it just seems ALOT of people are worried that a big company has brought Passionfords rights up and someone has made a few bucks out of it ...well guys NEWSFLASH!!!...thats life!!
