yes mate weve run loads at around this power on just a good std crank and rods just checked and balanced with f1 conrod bolts or arp.i know you dont want to split your engine but i wouldnt peronaly use your ground crank id use one thats still std but thats no big deal to change anyhow.the head work and turbo is the biggest expense

If I was you, i would spend it on a proper kick ass chassis like wrc rear end 8 pots etc, and get a real buzz by going round corners, FAST!
James

car is fast enough in the bends for me just want more power captain

an already built engine would cost what 15k i seriously cant see it would be cheaper

that looks as though it was a bargain had standard crank, rods and block though

i had a 3 door that had 2 group a fuel pumps on but that was done when i bought it. is it just case of plumbing second one in next to original pump and both t pieced in to original line ? all i know is both pumps were sat together under the 3 door. just thinking would be cheaper that way maybe

I'll say it again, if all you want is 190 @ Brunters then fit some nitrous.

You could easily give it another 150hp of nitrous or more which judging on how well Euans goes without any would see you at 190mph if not very close too.

That's an almost 800bhp turbo! It has a T4 flange and would be more correctly termed T67 .

It has to be said, is it REALLY worth pushing a 2.0 16v engine that hard? .... don't get me wrong, as a long time cossie lover nothing else feels like 500YB horses, but you reach the point of diminishing returns.....

got my maths wrong on calculating air flow to hp.

this one seems the same as whats for sale on ebay except not ball bearing or water cooled and should be good for around 650 hp.

Even that has almost 700bhp capability - just times the airflow by 10 and add 30bhp .

im thinking get a turbo a bit bigger and run 1.8 bar boost or somewhere around there and it can come with .82 a/r exhaust housing so thats the same as my t4 so lag should be similar in theory. if my rs500 t4 exhaust housing would fit then maybe i could swap that over and run internal gate would save alot of work if it could be done.

I think before you go thinking you can swap turbines over, you should do a google search and see how the A/R figure is derived .

do you know roughly how much it would cost to convert my current rs500 t4 to 600 hp spec ?

i understand the spec will be secret but does he change any housings or is it just internal work with porting and different comp wheel ?

thats good then only thing is my crank is on .25 grind but only done 2k miles so easily resailable

ive been advised standard crank is really needed at that power level

although my last saph was around 340 hp and that was on .75 grind and did 14k of proper hard caining without any bottom end issues.
so would possibly be ok if i dare to try

The turbo is running 2.2 bar.

Boost could be incresed to 2.5/2.6 bar and would see closer to 600 bhp.

Yeah its still an internal wastegate.

Just tell him you want a turbo like Euans and he will know what you mean
