The un-official 210.2 was 8300 in 5th (we hit the limiter) & to pull that we had over 850bhp. To get from 200 to 210 required circa 150 extra horses & you need to be past 200 at the mile as up there your close to 100m/sec so half a mile is only 8.5 secs. .

i was just thinking how many catogorys we break the cars into ref top speed?i/e with door mirrors, with aerodynamic tape, red ones white ones, seems any excuse to keep at the top of a very particular group.

If its a YB under the bonnet then It counts in the top ten list IMO.

Its up to the owner if they remove trim etc.

If its cossie powered in a ford shell its got to count..
martins mondeo might make 200 when its out next if he s going to do any top speed runs im sure it would count if it made it.

well there are only a FEW variables. for example: did it affect the torque on the left most bolt of the alternator mounting bracket?

Standard is

1st 3.61:1
2nd 2.08:1
3rd 1.36:1
4th 1.0:1
5th 0.83:1

But there are quite a few people that have gone down the 0.76:1 5th route by raiding the the ford MT75 parts bin .

- I was going to go for the higher 5th, but thought with around 420ish BHP it would kill the 5th gear performance too much...
