Ooof, this cant do the turbos much good...
Check out the mega amounts of compressor surge from 18seconds onwards....

thats surge you're describing yeah and it sounds the same as backing off without a dumpvalve (compressor stall)
And I agree it cant be doing them much good, especially when you consider the amount of air and the pressure of it coming back from a big diesel like that

Its about 2 million times worse than the surge you get when letting off the throttle.
That does next to no damage, its not under any load then.
Comp surge under load will smash turbos to fuck in no time.
