spoke to him, if you want the 3rd shaft youre looking Ł400 extra, and and all parts i.e new modified mounts and arms etc, new clutch as norm rs wont fit around Ł1600 with 3rd shaft, and inner wing needs modifying, so alot of money that way too

Ł1600!!
Jesus!
I have a MTX75 in my S2. Although I have changed to a S1 mount setup to carry the engine mounts I have made.
I can do two types, 1 that will drop the engine on the box side by about 30mm. This will help alot with clearing the rear S1 mount and gear lincage. The other keep the motor in the same position as I had manifold issues. This ment I had to modify the original S1 mount a hell of a lot and as yet untill the motor is dynod is untested although I am happy enough with it.
Lincage set up is off a Mk 5 RS2000 with modified steady bar.
Drive shafts cost me Ł150 but are not equal length.
Inner wing can be tweeked with a hammer to allow a little extra clearence, I choose to make up a panel and weld it in to the innner wing as I imagine my box will be in and out many times.
Thats about it people.

I have not used a equal length setup as yet as I have alot of clearence issues around the area it bolts to the back of the block. This I will look at doing when the car is on the road and my bank account has recovered from the arse raping it has been recieving of late.
I have not yet driven the car with this setup in.
If you take your RST shafts and mtx75 ends with measurements to almost any driveshaft/propshaft reconditioners they will cut sleave and balance for around Ł150.

Quaif box is only rated to 200bhp mate. They are not a strong as people believe. Although with the cost of them you would expect them to be.
If you get the the chance feel the weight of a MTX compared to a IB5 or BC.
Weight is a sign of reliability as they say! If it fails you could always use it to hit the opposition with!

Sounds like you have made your decision matey!
As I said bernie boxes are good, but I do tend to be a little hard on them myself.

Has any one tried a normal escort shaft into a mtx75? are the box splines the same? just having an idea that you could use the 3rd shaft on an escort so you get the equal length bit.
Prob not gonna work but hey you never know

Wul young has this box in his S1, was in perf/fast ford last month i think.
Think he fitted everything himself too.....equal length shafts, the lot.
Its a VERY good conversion for stopping torque steer if what i've heard is right!

You will have to try harder then mate.
290BHP 354lbft and the occassional blast of NOS when I deserved a treat!
The car (when its on the road) gets spanked to fuck, its a toy if I cant drive it fast/hard what is the point?
Last one smashed that badly it locked the wheels solid at about 50mph and shoved the turbo through the brand new alloy rad I had. Oh how I laughed!

I think it was the torque that was killing them TBH.
It was an Ian Howell 2.1 ZVH. I sold that a couple of years ago now.
