GT30 Turbo

Try a Garrett T3 60-1.
Standard oil journaled turbo. No fancy ball bearings.
Just help mine make 380bhp.

Can be had much cheaper than Ł600 quid too.

Much cheaper?
What exhaust housing did you use to gain 380bhp

Best to send the compressor maps off to your engine builder and see what they say Maps are available on the net freely if you search.
I was going to go for a .63 - but was advised to go for a .48.

Why use a 550bhp turbo if you not even got 400bhp?
ATP in the states are good for them too, about 700notes plus shipping, texes, etc etc, so if you can get em for a grand UK, may as well pay that.

Got mine from Turbo Dynamics mate, im running internal wastegate though. Speak to Matt there he is very helpfull indeed.
You need to set in your mind and also in spec of your engine what power you want to achieve. It is vital that all compnents are suited.
I made this problem on my last engine - still went well but was not a perfect match.

This is why i said 'you'll need to speak to your engine builder'. Just slinging on a Turbo and crossing your fingers is possibly the easiest way to through good money away.
I'm hoping that i'll pass 400bhp on the final map, i wanted a turbo that could support more boost than i currently run. I also had the block fitted with nikasil liners to support more power and reliability in the future.
PS: The T3/60-1 (and spec of) was chosen between both me and the engine builder.
There sure is a load of hate on this board...

The compressor map must suit the engine, i cant highlight that enough mate....
Basically choose what engine you want, what you intend to use it for, what power you want, revs etc. then choose a turbo that will cope with all of the formentioned

Billy: Have a look at the Fast Ford Tech PDF's (i think there was a link in here not long ago) it gives the basics on matching a turbo and how to interpret the compressor maps.
Then give your engine builder a call and chew the cud for a bit.
There are literally loads of turbos that could possibly be used and all will give varying results on your engine spec.
It really is imperative to talk to your engine builder.

If you have seen it on track and not been mildly impressed then I'm sure your standards are higher than most OR you don't know what the fuck you are talking about
All im saying is the magazines etc hyped the car up big time maybe even more then you would of wanted because it upped the expectations of your workmanship.

A gt30 would be far to big for that engine mate i would look at a gt28 turbo for that kinda power, could possibly even run a t3 with .64 exhaust housing, im not an expert here but defo a gt30 too BIG..
