Just been an the new board and think that it's a big improvment
I understand that it is a lot quicker, but there's not many people on the system to slow it down yet.
With not having a lot of time to really push the system to it's limits, i've tried to have a play with some of the new features.....
I'm very impressed with it all up to now. We all know there will be a few ghost in the machine but they wont be resloved until we get more people testing the board Come on people let's all help out
Back to the post, As most things you seem to miss the little touches that make using forums like this easier and more enjoyable.........
The way the profile is split up and makes it more accessible.
The Friends/Foe Selection is very good and simple to do and helps out when sending PM's.
The Bookmarking & Subscribing facility is very handy, I like the way you can recive updates to selected posts
Attaching files to post from your computer is aslo a niffty liitle trick!
I know that my post isn't super constructive but i suppose it all helps.

Sorry Stu,
I can appreciate the effort that has gone in, but I actually prefer the look of this site and can see nothing wrong with it, but maybe I am getting old!

Just had a quick scout around on the test site, looks good & I like all the new features. Only one thing I noticed is that when you place the cursor over the topic title you dont get a preview of the contant of the thread.

I haven't got anything constructive to add, it works, to be honest as long as I can post, see posts and search thats all that matters, I don't use all these new fangled fancy things like 'friends and foes' lol, I suppose its nice to have the facility to do extra things, but personally I probably wouldn't use them, you know people say we hate change? I prefer the look to the current forum but thats just superficial

sorry for the delay.. only checked my email this morning (I was working last night)
I like the new board to be honest its more intuitive and feels more usable and flexible, I even like the default skin as it seems clean and fresh
Its unfair to make a statement on performance as until typical heavy loadings are placed upon it you will not really know however presently I have no issues
Its a good improvement to phpbb imho and that's something as I generally dislike the application

10K+ Poster!!
I like it, at least you can stop people you don't want to speak to from pm'ing you.
I presume the pf logo & advertising banner will be added to it as well if we do use it as the new pf forum?

Stu/Pet,
one annoyance I have just noticed, is that with the smilies on the left of the response box (where you type a response to a thread), you have to scroll a lot more to get to the "submit" button.
In fact, with this version, I don't have to scroll at all
PS: Should there be a thread for constructive criticism and nothing else, no banter, no "i don't like it" to help pet/stu sort out the weed from the chaff ?
