Default anyone SVA recently

need accurate info

i seem to remember liverpool sva was about £600 a while back
but that was them doing it iirc

but on the dvla website its £200 and £45 for a retest, its dear but not
what i was expecting

are they still picky on Xenon headlamps?
is it still the usual stuff, i just cant seem to find what needs doing
at the current time.
also where is the nearest testing centre to cheshire/n-wales or
is it going to be liverpool thats closest

Yup, still picky on xenons/self levelling etc, fog lights distance from the floor / away from the side etc etc. They even failed my S2000 first time for the ECU having an incorrect code on the front (turns out it was a later one that Honda updated at the factory!!). Even if you have a Thatcham alarm fitted the fitter needs to be VIMTA approved!!

They are right fookers and you've got to be real lucky to get a decent guy doing it.

sorry mate i cannot remember, ive not done one for about 3 years now and know things have changed slightly, ive not bothered since the invalid carrige loophole was closed!

ive registered a few rally cars as disable chariots in the past.worked well then but as usual its fooked now,not worth the legwork anymore, but carlisle staff were/are always decent,i know lots of folk made the long journey to sva here as they could work with the testers to sort out little troubles/problems.

i know about the 10 year old rule malarky, at liverpool docks
jap car auction i have seen some under 10 left to stand so they become
exempt.

i have got a mitsubishi evo and it needs a sva
i am not waiting 5 years just to save a few quid, but want to do
as much of the work to get it to pass as possible.
on the dvla website it does not say what i need to do

Basically it has to be the same spec as a UK one, probably quite easy as the Evo's were all made abroad!!!! Perhaps calling Xtreme (the Evo people) they might be able to help?

My Evo 7 was an import (bought it already over here) and the only thing i noticed different was a fog on the back under the bumper.

thanks for all the replys

i know about the rear fog light, the fuel neck restrictor,
get rid of the k off the kmh speedos and it will pass as just mh.
its just the model report stuff and if the xenon headlamps will
pass, its making me nervous

I think they will mate, am sure the UK ones had xenon lights. Check on the MLR. You'll have to have a very friendly tester for you to get away with the M/H thing!!! Think its only about £80 to get it converted.

What was it you got an Evo 7? How much did you pay if you dont mind me asking and what spec. Interesting to see what they fetch at auction.
