I think most useful may be the comment on 'colour'.. so maybe black plates are 'road legal' for the time being?

I got excited then but it still doesn't mention anything about the font so my german plates are still illegal

There must be or have been a court case recently involving this and a decision is pending on the leagallity of failing for the above.

passing an MOT and being road legal are two different things

just because black and silver plates would pass mot doesnt mean the cops wouldnt pull you over and apply the law!

But then if you get you to get them checked at an mot station, they would say they are ok
